Briggs to get shot at Dawson?

Post by Marlin »

Gary Shaw has said that "if you fight for him you gotta fight." He says he won't be giving Chad Dawson an easy first defense of his WBC Light Heavyweight Title and is looking to make a fight with Paul Briggs.

How do you see this going? Briggs' best shot is to try and turn it into a war and take Dawson out, otherwise he might get jabbed to death like Adamek was. The bright light from that fight is that Adamek did knock Dawson down, so there is hope Briggs can take it one step further... A good tough fight no matter what happens...

Briggs is one of my favorite fighters but i was very impressed with Dawson, He looked to have all the makings of a top 175 pounder for years to come.
I would predict that Briggs would lose by decision but he could have a punchers chance as he has more power than Ademek.

Apparently Briggs looked 100% shot in his last fight.

Was that the one on the Ndou undercard where he was fighting that Aswegen bloke? I think it would be hard for Briggs to 'get up' for a someone who is 12-4, he probably didn't have the best preparation but if I recall he still won a pretty wide decision for what its worth...

spot on. Briggs may be on the way down after a huge thai boxing career, toughman fights and boxing. Or maybe a good break would help
