Correction: Jack Dorman, Lightweight, Bronx, NY 1900s
Jack Dorman, Lightweight and Featherweight Boxer of Bronx NY who fought from the 1890's thru early 1920's, was known as "Iron Man" Jack Dorman, and then was also a referee into the 1950's, was NOT known by the alias of Young Jack O'Brien as stated on your web page. Jack Dorman was my grandfather. Also, he had many more fights than what you have listed, and I have many New York Times and other clippings about them. ARTomlin, Naugatuck, CT. [email protected]
Please share with us the missing bouts, with newspaper citations. (And any other un-recorded bouts those clippings might mention.) And, in the meantime, because this partial record was created by "powerhouse" historians like Luckett Davis and Barry Deskins, and fellow Editors Joshua and Robin, if they concur that one alias was "Young Jack O'Brien," I would be hard-pressed to argue with them. Perhaps one of the first three (Robin passed on two years ago) can cite a source or two.
