Anyone think these guys will be a big rival to Universum & Sauerland? They've inked Herbie Hide, they've signed those 3 Cuban amateurs.

Who else do they have, & what can they do for Herbie, who wants to fight once a month and obviously get a big fight somewhere.

I can see the Hill/Maske 2 winner squaring off with the 'Dancing Destroyer'!

they have come from no where havent they.
obviously signed the cubans on the back of already having Gomez.. but still huge signings for a smallish outfit...

Seems that they don't have major TV backing. But they have a slew of decent names like JC Gomez, Hide, and others known to German audiences i.e. Aguzum.

Really interesting stuff. Hope they can do something with Hide. With Hide's non-chin and big punch, he can be a riveting cruiser.

German boxing is getting quite big but there seems to be little home talent there.

What they need to do is sign a German with talent and they could compete with the big two in no time.

I think the Germans a fed up of supporting the likes of Erdei and Urkal.... they need a new Ottke, Maske, Rochigiani's, Beyer.

If they can find one, or at least hype one up to be the new one - then I'm sure the TV's situation will soon happen.

alot of folks blast the american boxing scene for its increasing dependence on usa-based mexican fighters, but it seems like the phenomenal boom in german boxing scene of recent years (2003 til now) depends alot more on foreign talent than the american scene does!!

I fear Herbie's new beginning may just be another false dawn. He will probably slip back into inactivity and disappear before re-appearing in Sweden or somewhere under a new promotional banner ready to conquer the world. I suspect his time has come and gone.

As for the German talent point, that is correct the Germans are desperate for another home grown superstar to come along and fill the arenas. Hence the ill advised returns of the likes of Axel Schulz and Henry Maske.

Am i right in thinking that they also have Sinan Samil Sam on their books? If so, i'm sure i've read that they are tapping into the large Turkish audience in Germany.

but being a cruiser may be the difference in him getting , say KO'd and merely stunned. Hav to worry about the absense and his out of control life though.

Just look at last nights german card at the Köln Arena, its was soldout (19500) despite 3 of the 4 homefighters are "non-germans". Now you probaly wonder why it sold that many tickets. The reason it sold that many was because Regina Halmich fourght in an exh. match...

Apparently the exhibition was between Regina and a male tv celeb....Bring on Jane Crouch v Michael Barrymore

The German board obviously more relaxed than the british counterparts...

The old twats in BBBC/ABA still havent allowed amateur and pros to fight on the same card...
