Solomon left without an opponent...
I just read that Solomon Haumono has been left without an opponent for his fight tonight after the NSW Boxing Authority banned two of his proposed opponents, Alex Mene and Sam Leuii. I can only assume that this is as a result of the backlash after the abysmal mismatches on the Soliman undercard. While Solomon won't be happy, if this sort of ruling is now consistent it can only improve the Australian Boxing scene in the long run.
You are right Ben the only way our boys will improve is to step up and take hard fights that they can learn from not easy wins to pad their recordsBen Keilty wrote:It would be good if they were consistant. There are far to many mismatches in this country and it could only be good for the sport if they make fighters step up a bit more.

It appears that this is a pretty big problem that won't be sorted out for some time yet... What happened to the good old days when the best in the world came to fight in Sydney!?! The time was boxing was truly mainstream, I wish I was around for that!oliverfennell wrote:Problem is, it's difficult to get decent fights, right? There's not much decent from Asia above featherweight, the Pacific islands are a very thin pool, and America and Europe are just too far away to import fighters from.
