No one is angry with Khan but he shouldn't be calling out people like Earl and co stating they will miss their chance to fight him and then get in the ring with the likes of Steffy Bull.

People are correct, it's the exact same mistakes Audley made.

Khan and SN are on totally different wave lengths in regards to where they think he is at.

There is also the issue that not all of us think Khan is the super hot prospect that he is being touted as :)

[edit] Limond will imo be his first decent test, and I am almost certain that fight is guaranteed to be made - He fits the bill perfectly :)

Well it's annoying to hear him call out Mitchell, because we all know this fight wont happen in a 100 years...not while both are unbeaten SN prospects at any rate.

And yet the press talk it up like we're meant to take it seriously.

Khan isn't the brightest spark

As for how good Khan is let me pose this question. How many are better boxing athletes and who else is as big as Khan size wise 135 or below? Athletic wise Khan is the business and this is a very important aspect, his pro level skills are not fantastic yet, his man strength is still developing. He'll be able to beat many to the punch, outwork and generally outbox his opponents. His strength is still developing but it is already allot better than what it was 2 years ago.

If we threw Ricky Hatton in with Kostya Tyszu at the age of 20 what would have happened? I think he would have been completely ruined from it. What if the great Chavez was thrown to the dogs after 12 fights?

Does Khan himself actually know that though? Khan probably believes fights with Earl/Mitchell are possible and he probably believes he can be a world champ in 12 months. He can only fight the names put in front of him.

I wouldn't be that suprised if Khan doesnt' face Mitchell in a big domestic fight as its becoming apparent Mitchell won't make it on the big stage so he will be good to feed to Khan as an unbeaten fighter. Khan-Mitchell for the WBU lightweight title seems likely. Earl could also be a WBU opponent for Khan.

Khan is over eager, that's all, I think he doesn't realise the gulf in class between where he is now and the level he aspires to.

It's just big talk from a young boxer full of beans and eager to show the world.

Exactly hes enthusiastic and not really arrogant despite been hyped to the hills. He probably doesn't know that much about all the top British and world contenders and may not know the opponents hes fighting aren't that good. I wouldn't argue that he'd be in danger of been clocked cold against the likes of Thaxton and Romanov but in the future he may give both a boxing lesson.

So? Castillo was a lightweight, barrera was a super bantamweight, Pacquiao started at 112lbs, Mayweather could still weigh 135lbs if he wanted too.

Smaller fighters still pose problems. If Mitchell was a lightweight Khan would still do a number on him.

Its rather sad to see that Khan has already adopted Hameds ego long before he's done even 10% of what Hamed did in his career... Amir needs to shut up and take a look at how unpopular Hamed is today and if he;s got any intelligence he may just learn something about humility and respect for his fellow fighters and how bigmouths can quickly become boring and unpopular... he may like to look at the career and popularity of Audely Harrison too... Amir is talented but is coming across more and more lately as someone who is reading too many of his own press cuttings... Thaxton would beat him up at this point imo and Warren wont let Amir any where near him...

Well he should know about his fellow British fighters and he'd need to be daft to believe that his opponents have been even British title level... if he knows so little about his fellow fighters how on earth can he beat them??... the fact is that he's either arrogant or dumb judging by his statements... this from a guy who couldnt even get through the ABAs..... the truth is that he isnt stupid, he's arrogant, simple as that....

Very good point and as you say a fair test - Does anyone know if Khan and Froch are mates, they both seem to sing from the same hymnsheet.

more brits need to give amir a bit of a break on the braggadocio---he's said many times his idol is ali and ali is the godfather of boxing braggadacio!! :TU: how can you honestly expect anyone patterning himself after the ultimate trash-talker to be some kind of shy, humble fighter!!

Having listened to the lad for 3 years, I can say he doesn't seem to have any. One of the most dense, docile people i've ever heard try string a sentence together.

But its without the wit or playfulness of Ali. Its just the pure arroogance of Hamed.

Khan is nowhere near as cocksure as Hamed, and he's never going to be Ali.

Khan is slightly cocky, I don't find it offensive at all, if anything I feel slightly embarassed for him, because he is writing cheques his ass just ain't ready to cash yet.

Warren is thankfully putting his achievements into perspective.

you're just overimpressed by medals and "Olympic pedigree."

Look at guys like Rocky Juarez and Jose navarro. They're not even elite fighters.

Khan is a light welter, no matter what everyone tells you. Especially now that the any fraction of the WBO lightweight belt is gone...He's a growing lad and he fights closer to 140. Light welter vs super feather = 2 division advantage = nothing out of the ordinary.

If Khans a natural light welter then Hattons a natural light middle  What you weigh on fight night is not your best fighting weight. No doubt that Khan is optimal at lightweight and his best chance is fighting there.

As for Khan-Mitchell yes the cards are stacked in his favour but he still has to beat Mitchell and it will be a step up. If Khans going to be groomed into something big he needs to be moved along slowly but surely. They don't need to throw him in with a top30 in the world 135lber until he sees off the likes of Mitchell. And he should get in with Earl before hes ready to fight Thaxton to give him the right experience.

erm, who said fight night? Every fight just about he OFFICIALLY weighs in close to 140. He's a growing kid with beefy shoulders. You think in 4 years' time he's going to gun for a 135-title?

Have to say, Khan looks destined for Welterweight by his late 20's, he's filling out rapidly, and looks very strong already. He's got broad shoulders and a big upper body generally.

Most top level fighters who arent going for a title weigh just above the weight they campaign at. Khans shown he can make 135. In 4years he'll probably grow into 140 or even 147, if he goes for a title in the next 18months its at 135. A bit of weight drain is optimal

Not any time soon he's not. He would be conceding his strength and size advantage by getting in with top 140 lbers.

He'll stay at 135 till he wins some sort of title, then move up.

Khan is brilliant in the ring, no doubt about that, but the guy is fast becoming the next Audley Harrison with these irritating press releases.

Anyone can spout out names left, right and centre  .....just get in there with Britain's top performers and prove it. :box:

I've touched on this before, khan being kept busy and fresh while limond hasn't even had a mention of a fight since he won the commonwealth at the start of last november!
