yep, and i'm sure Bobby Gunn has faced many 6ft 4 fairly skilled massive hitters like Enzo. The BBC should screw ITV by having a link to that Gunn fight we've all seen on the same page.

Gunn v Keaton would be a good little fight, Gunn v Enzo is a joke

why do people come up with bullshit comments like this? Gunn had 180+ amatuer fights, he turned pro at 16, he's had quality training and sparring throughtout his career. Gunn can fight and he's coming to win. maccarinelli's been floored in the past even KO'd by journeymen level fighters. he's got a great shot maccarinelli but if he doesnt land it, he's not world class, we saw v Hobson I and v the little fat argentine bloke, he loses rounds.

I am looking forward to the fight.

Hobson had good amateur background, good pro record, good trainer and look what happened in the rematch....

Enzo can hit and this guys chin doesnt look too solid....

Thats why a lot of people are expecting this to be over early...

I would never disrespect anyone who has the guts to get in the ring, but it all seems to point at Gunn being in over his head a little here

Wouldn't surprise me if Gunn managed to spark him. Stranger shit happens on a regular basis in this sport, especially if the favourite's chinny. Dont see Gunn having any chance other than that one big punch landing though.

Seriously, how the feck Maccarinelli's people thought this was a justifiable choice of opponent is beyond me. Is he up there in the WBO rankings or something? Piss poor matchmaking to anyone with a clue.

Gunn's being served up as a starter for Enzo stateside, a showcase.

well he was a light middle aged from 16 - 20, he's 33 now. he doesnt look out of shape, i doubt he could even make light heavy now

having looked at his record. maybe i was a little harsh on Dominguez, i always thought of him as the boxer johnny nelson schooled years ago.

do you get my point tho, Dominguez is the same in size as Gunn, Gunn probably quicker and after 7/8 rounds, Macca was behind on some cards v Dominguez.. if he doesnt land the big shot, he can be beaten.

this fight has the look of a Haye v Fragomeni, not Tyson v McNeeley

one site reports that Gunn is on a multi fight deal with Warren, theres definitely more to him than most people are crediting

Par for the course, Frank would have options on his own shadow if he could. Not hard to put into a contract when you're giving away undeserved shots like this, plus it makes it look like Frank actualy thinks it's a decent fight.

Yes, entirely typical, most promoters with any clout will insist on options in order for a fighter to get a shot at their fighter, it would also mean that Warren would be able to get Enzo a rematch should the unthinkable happen.

I think we need HBO to get interested in Macca, so that they agree to show his fights ONLY IF he fights good opponents.

It would be a good time for Enzo to make his move. I know it wasn't his fault tha the Nelson fight didn't happen (twice) but it's happened all too easily and taking these kind of backward steps before earning any credibility as a title holder is bad.

Mormeck is absolutely for the taking. I am disgusted with what he did over the final third vs Bell. Used to be a time when I was big on JMM. He must have little ring sense - why the hell didn't he BOX early, slowly turn the heat up, fight the technically inferior Bell ON HIS OWN TERMS and leave himself with something over the champ rounds?

Bell has loads of technical shortcomings too. These guysaren't exactly the equivalent of Kostya Tszyu. While I'm at it, Vadim Tokarev reminds me of Tszyu. Lethal, precise, smart. But he's gunning for the IBF.

Gunn getting blown out in two rounds by Shelby Gross tells you all you need to know about this match.

And before you say it was changed to an NC because Gross failed the drug test, consider the drug was cannabis, which is the opposite of performance-enhancing. If Gross was clean, he might have done an even better job!

Good grief....that is awful. The opponent was terrible and Gunn is so easy to hit especially when he's throwing a punch.

THe handling of that match was also terrible - the ref should be banned. The whole fight was like some white Trash Toughman contest...

He also looks like he'll come out winging which means Enzo will have to whack him out.

Enzo in quickest 'world title' Ko ever....

On the night how are the ITV Boxing team going to hype/build up the Maccarinelli - Gunn fight?

Will they come out with lines like "Gunn is a dangerous, tough, hard hitting, strong American, who always comes to fight" "learnt his trade in the tough USA gyms"type line or will they not even try and just concentrate on Maccarinelli and his future?
