WBF middleweight champion Damon Hague is set to end his lay-off by fighting twice in 28 days.
The 32-year-old has not thrown a punch in anger since securing the WBF crown at the Nottingham Ice Arena in April, when he knocked out Wayne Pinder in the second round.
But now Hague has announced plans to meet Birmingham's Howard Clarke at London's Alexandra Palace on Saturday, October 4.
He will then have three weeks to prepare for his first world title defence, which is set to take place in his home town of Derby on either Friday, October 31, or Saturday, November 1.
Hague said: "I'm entering the most important month of my career so far. It's been a long time coming but I'm ready to step into the ring.
"I need the Clarke fight just to get back into the swing of it then I'll be ready for the big one.
"That's not to say I won't be preparing properly for the fight in London because Howard's the kind of boxer that can give you a really hard time if you give him an inch.
"But I won't take him lightly and will be preparing for both fights in exactly the same way."

Re: Damon Hague vows to get busy
Fresh rumours about Hague v Pinder III seem to crop up every week, I just hope the fight gets made sooner or later. But then again with both guys suffering such savage knockouts at the hands of eachother perhaps neither wants to go there again.
