allegedly's troubles

Post by Blue »

I was just wondering what the knowledgeable Brit fans have to say about today’s write ups.

No Time on Showtime for Hatton

The links are to the same article mate.

It's nothing new to be honest, we all know Witter wants Hatton, and I am sure Hatton wants Witter - just to shut him up.

I'm guessing Warren is waiting for Witter to bring a big performance/belt to the table, a little look into his record of late, shows us nothing to be massively impressed about (although a lot of people are)

I'm pretty sure Warren wants a big PPV event with this fight, and it's unlikely to happen at the moment, purely because a lot of people haven't heard of Witter.

Sorry about that.
I edited it & fixed it.

Sorry, But I have to disagree with your take on it.
Witter is as well known in the USA as Hatton because of his challenge with Judah.
Hatton’s Showtime performance with Phillips & Magee ranked 30th & 32nd on BoxRec isn’t considered that great of accomplishments.
I think the first link sez it. 8)

Read the first article :)

Witter isn't well known here in the UK - the lack of top of the bill action supports this.

There is no doubt that Hatton has to step it up, but I don't think Witter is that required step to be honest.

I think Hatton has bigger fish to fry just now, and I would like to see Witter go his own route as well tbh, and meet up in a 12-18 months time.

Witter Hatton is a cracking fight EITHER side of the pond IMO.

Witter is a nightmare opponent for Hatton and I wouldn't be at all surprisedm to see Witter beat and possibly STOP Hatton - having said that I would be equally unsurprised to see Witter do a runner for 12 after taking a few bodyshots - thats why its a cracking fight.

A little side issue - why the double header with Jeff Lacy? Hatton is a semi-proven, exciting crowd-pleaser and Lacy (IMO) is an un-appealing (talentwise) limited novice, and every time i have seen him fight i have been less impressed.

Showtime must have hopes for the guy, can't imagine why.

Problem with Witter is that he thinks "Earning" the Hatton fight can be done by Trash Talking and Fighting Stiffs.

That's it. That's his plan.

If he was fighting fighters that Hatton had struggled with, (and he's had the chance to fight Magee) or credible oponents in there own right, he be at least doing the right thing.

But no, stiffs and slander. This is not the way to earn a shot and so I am happy with the fact he's being frozen out.

If he steps up to the plate, then naturally I want to see the fight.

Witter's post-Judah opposition is laughable.

And it's getting worse....
