McGuigan stated Khan is the best lightweight in britain, then when Barry was asked about the chance of Khan fighting Thaxton,Meager and Earl, Barry stated he wasn't ready for them, did anyone else hear that?
Also I would like to see Khan and Bull punch stats, I feel Bull went down witout really getting hit with a meaning full punch, then got up at 9 knowing ref would stop it, no dis-respect but thought he would really go for the win.

that was the quote of the night along with enzo's about a lesser fighter going down faster.Matt Teague wrote:McGuigan stated Khan is the best lightweight in britain, then when Barry was asked about the chance of Khan fighting Thaxton,Meager and Earl, Barry stated he wasn't ready for them, did anyone else hear that?

[quote="Matt Teague"]McGuigan stated Khan is the best lightweight in britain, then when Barry was asked about the chance of Khan fighting Thaxton,Meager and Earl, Barry stated he wasn't ready for them, did anyone else hear that? Yes I certainly did, what a contradiction - These would all be risky fights for Khan - FW made much more sense in his reply - FW says he will give Khan a title fight later this year so Limond is the most likely and certainly not Jon Thaxton - Khan could be British Champion by next year but Thaxton would be a very tough fight and I am not sure he could do it - As for talking about a world title in a year its a load of bollocks unless he means the WBU - Khan needs to stop talking like Hamed or Froch, be more humble, get on with learning and see how far his skills will take him - Comparing him with top fighters this early in his career is as much a nonsense as Khan saying nobody in the UK can beat him - Hype, bragging etc is stupid and the name Harrison springs to mind with regard to making silly claims - Note how humble Jennings was and he is a very accomplished fighter.
emma, emma, come on now think a little.
amir khan cannot be described as you did above, he is a very serious prospect whether you like him or not. yes we are long past the day when he should be put in with a guy who would really test him but actually thats not the boys fault - he tells us after every farce that MR W picks the fights.
so your vitriol is misdirected. khan remains one of our best prospects warts and all.

Maybe I did go a little over board BUT actually I meant hios fights are sh**. he does annoys me and I dont think he's anything special. I mean come on FW picks these non-punchers because khan's got no chin.harrygreb wrote:emma, emma, come on now think a little.

Bit like Kell Brook thenemma wrote:Maybe I did go a little over board BUT actually I meant hios fights are sh**. he does annoys me and I dont think he's anything special. I mean come on FW picks these non-punchers because khan's got no chin.
I was surprised by Bull lack of ambition, though. I think we saw a fighter whose heart isnt in the game anymore, and that’s always a shame.
A lot of the guys at the lower end - Baz Carey, Carl Allen, etc - have nothing but good things to say about him.

Didnt Bull's manager put £1.000 on him?.Podmore_Birmingham wrote:Bit like Kell Brook thenemma wrote:Maybe I did go a little over board BUT actually I meant hios fights are sh**. he does annoys me and I dont think he's anything special. I see Khan is shooting his mouth off post the Bull fight - FW picks his next opponent so whatever the kid says he will have to be patient and do it Franks way - No short cuts which could end or put back Khans progress - Limond not a big hitter and smaller in stature is the least risk so therefore the best route to a title - Jon Thaxton next year but Khan will have to be very prepared for that one - Thaxton as we all know can hit and if Khan should walk onto a bomb its goodnight no matter how good he is - Slowly, and keep learning is the only way for Khan and bullshit about Thaxton NOW is best ignored - He does have a hell of a lot of skill but he still needs to learn a lot more before risking everything against the likes of Thaxton who has learnt the hard way and totally deserves to hold the British belt.
I agree with you totally Emma, the guys turning into a real little pr**k imo... the latest is that he's saying that Murray isnt on his level blah blah blah.... so I suppose Steffi Bull was eh??.... bullshit!!...emma wrote:Maybe I did go a little over board BUT actually I meant hios fights are sh**. he does annoys me and I dont think he's anything special. Exactly, he's saying that he can beat any 135 fighter in Britain yet continues to fight nohopers like Bull... as was said in one of my favourite Clint Eastwood films... 'dont piss down my back then tell me its raining!'KOJOE90 wrote:Khan is judging and comparing himself by the highest standards so it's only fair that the fans and media judge him the same way, isn't it?

Aren't there other things to do in life than monitor Amir Khan's every move? The kid will be stepped up sooner or later, they always are. Until then there are plenty of other legit fights to focus on.
I don't know why people get so offended by someone like Khan. He's not trying to call himself a world champion, he's not leading anyone up the garden path. Any silly twat could see Stefy Bull forgot about trying to win after about 10 seconds. Big deal. Khan is clearly one of the best prospects in the country, one day he will have to walk the walk for the first time, and millions of people will be glued to the spectacle when that moment arrives, certain to see something of quality.
