On the phone to Tak today and he sounded dreadful. Said he had a Meridien TV interview after which he was taking to his bed after getting back from the quacks having been diagnosed with tonsilitis.

Says taking the weight off in the last week did him in and he lacked strength, couldn't cope with Jennings speed, couldn't get off quick enough and didn't have the strength to work inside when Jennings got close. Said he was thankful Jennings wasn't a puncher as he could have been badly hurt.

Think he wants to go back to light-middle where no doubt he'll be stronger, but he just struggles with decent boxers who he can't nail. Styles make fights and Jennings was just too quick for him. Even at his best I think he'd have struggled.

I actually thought that Tak cut the ring off quite well, but he didn't let any punches go, and let Jennings tie him up on the inside.
A step back up to light-middle might be the answer, maybe match him with Macklin. See who has what left.

the general consenus is that Takaloo didn't look right, regardless of what excuses he's giving now.

Basically he can fight anyone, seeing as the WBU will sanction any boxer to fight for their title, he should do what Matt Skelton did and chuck the WBU belt away, at least that way he won't have to pay a sanction fee.

He should dump it, I notice Earl still got his title. I wonder if Small will fight Alexander for one.
