Toughie for Duddy?

Looks like Duddy's next fight will be against Elvin Ayala. This for me is a bit of a step up from Bonsante.

I have seen Ayala's last 3 outings, and while two were defeats when he was the hometown fighter.... they were very close fights in nice matches both could have really gone either way... although I do think Banks did nick them.

Strange match for Duddy, cause with the two defeats Ayala doesn't really offer much in terms of recognition, publicity, or respect with boxing fans. But I would say Ayala is pretty decent and his recent record doesn't do himself that much justice with regards to his level. He could have easily been awarded the decisions over Banks. Plus, Ayala fights predimonently at Super Middle - so will be bigger.

Could be interesting.

Maybe he's looking for a decent scrap for his last fight in America. He's apparently going to test the waters in Ireland after this fight.

I'd say that they'd easily do the likes of Landsdowne if it wasn't getting torn down, even with shit opponents. The 2 of them just on the card together would do the trick, they should also bring Andy Lee over for good measure.

I know Dunne said he'd love to fight in Croke but I don't see that filling up unless one of them has a big world title shot. A Duddy/Abraham, Dunne/Molitor double bill would definitely do the trick with Andy Lee taking a decent step up on the undercard. We'll call it "Irish Eggs in One Basket"

I think Duddy is going to end up burning himself out or end up on the bad end of the stick if he keeps taking on tougher opponents. I do like the guy, he's a very entertaining fighter. But he keeps it up he'll be punch drunk by the time he's 30.

If Macklin can fight McKay in Ireland on a Dunne bill, then I think Duddy vs Macklin is argueably the domestic fight (domestic title level fight) that I would most like to see. What an atmosphere and surely a sure fire fight of the year contender.

I just think Macklin needs one more decent fight in Ireland to establish himself a bit more "Irish" with the public out there.

Macklin is pretty well established hin Ireland as an "Irish" boxer. He also did the punditry RTE for the last Jim Rock and Beranrd Dunne card.

Yes, I have seen the bill - he did a good job also. Just wandering though if he will sell tickets on his own right in Ireland.
