Mel - my guess is that you weren't at the tourney, but just reporting the results. If you were there or have any more info, I would like to read more about the bouts. DonYil Livingstone - now there is a name from the past. He must have hundreds of bouts of experience. Was his bout close? Is he going to make another run at the Olympics? It is hard to believe that he won't turn 23 until this summer. It just feels like he has been around forever.
No, I wasn't at the bouts. Remember, I don't do Golden Gloves. 8) DonYil entered our USA Boxing districts and lost. He hasn't competed in two years and probably needs to just give it up. He's an extremely bright person (4.0 GPA all through school), excellent football player and doesn't "need" to box. Maybe he's living out his father's dream (who is our Chief of Officials who coached Yil from the neutral corner in his official's uniform). The only run he can make for the Olympics would be to now enter the Eastern and Western Trials. Guess we'll have to wait and see if he does. He has been around forever - since he was a JO. And from what I heard, it wasn't close.
