Hmm, first time I've heard this particular story, the words character assassination spring to mind.

I know he's an egomaniac, but I find it hard to believe that Audley would be THAT callous.

Well either Dominic Negus would make up a story about his own disabled father, or its true.

The shoe fits, Audley is an established c#nt, always has been, right to back to his days as a self confessed bully at school.

Dominic Negus was hardly friendly or complimentary about Audley after their fight, he was giving it the BIG un in the post fight interview saying Audley hit like a girl and there were numerous quotes in the paper with him slagging Audley off. Why should Audley be doing him in any favours?
Then Negus tested positive in his postfight drugs test.

Audley deserves props for turning his life round IMO, from a teenage tearaway who went to Borstel, to a gold medallist, multi-millionaire. Alot of people don't like his confidence/arrogance, but I personally like boxers to have confidence/arrogance/selfassureness and shout it from the rooftops even if it is misplaced at times. Audley, (SRCJJ) Small, Haye, Froch, Sugar Ray Leonard, James Toney, Ali... I like all of their boxing personas

Audleys abit like marmite IMO

Its ok to talk the talk if you walk the walk but Audely hasnt, yet he still hasnt learnt his lesson... truth is Audely has a bully mentality which is probably why he'll never make it as a boxer....

Come on guys, its been obvious for a long long time that Harrison couldn't back up his boasts in the ring its nothing new.

It was merely confirmed for the dellusional when Sprott KO'd him. Not all of them though it seems.... ;-)

Why should any pro be complimentary to Harrison?

He made his bed before he even had his first fight, by uttering nonsense about being British champ within five fights.

That's bound to get the backs of other HW's up & leave him open to criticism.

Christ thats where we differ. I have HORRIFIC memories of Big Aud BBC fight nights.

Over the top entrances (Tim Westwood yelling "make noise!! The GREAT audley harrison!!" before Calloway).... overmatched bums... slow boring southpaw prodding... Jim Neilly.... John Inman... Steve f#ckin Bunce.. post fight interviews where Aud kept assuring us although his opponents were sh#t he actually is still the best...

Haha, more i think about it, more i love the fac t that a guy like Michael Sprott exposed the bum for what he always was :TU:

The one thing I did enjoy on one of the BBC A Force nights was when they had Nigel Benn in the studio. Benn rightly in my eyes ripped into Harrison for a 'lack of fire' type atitude.

Benn was never invited back for some reason.

Go Nigel. :TU:

Yeah I have to agree with that, Terry/Terence for someone who posts a great deal of sense that was a bizarre statement!

Are you being a little 'tongue in cheek' or do you really have fond memories of watching Audley's fledgling pro career 'evolve'?

Did a trio of Swedish lesbians used to come round to your house on those particular nights and perform all sorts upon you and you've just linked the good memories with Harrison's fights?

In the words of the song...

"You do it to yourself...you do
You and no-one else
you do it to yourself, you do
and that's what really hurts."

Maybe though that song is about masturbating whilst holding a strip of sandpaper I've never been entirely sure.

Technical question: if they really were lesbians, wouldn't they be performing all sorts upon each other?

An ambitious gay boy of Khartoum,
Took a lesbian up to his room.
But they argued all night,
About who had the right
To do what, and with which, and to whom.

How can you even think to compare a yellow belly with zero stamina & even less heart to great champions who have proved themselves & backed up their boasts in the ring on many occasions?

Harrison has achieved precisely ZERO in his career (please don't mention the WBF title  ), despite having one of the biggest gobs in the history of boxing & that is accutely embarrassing considering what he promised us in 2000!

overhand_right wrote:I know, i remember you telling us just how good he is and the day he finally stepped up and faced a world class heavy he was going to surprise us all & demolish them.

I cant see why anybody would like Audley. He ran his mouth so much and treated better, tougher fighters with so little respect, then got himself sparked by a journeyman.

When i think of Audley, i think of Audley minders not allowing Dominic Negus into his dressing room to congratulate him. "He's not interested". Dominic said "well will you tell Audley im here with my disabled father who would like to meet him" his minders came back and told Dominic "hes still not interested".

Thats Audley Harrison. A complete c#nt all the way who got what he had coming to him. If you want to root for a british heavy with no chance in world class, at least root for nice guy honest pro's like Sprott or Williams.

:TU:
Well said, I dont understand why anyone tolerates him - He hasnt and probably wont ever be able to prove he is good enough at British level (never mind world) also the man is a complete arsehole not worthy of a single fan - Why do people support and tolerate nasties with such big gobs - Danny Williams has been a frustrating fighter to watch, brilliant on one occasion and crap the next with his fluctuating weight but he has proven himself at the top and he is a genuine nice guy out of the ring as well - Danny has respect for his fans as does Matt Skelton whereas Harrison appears to have none - I just wish he would find another occupation and fade away.

Perhaps Valuev needs a comeback opponent?

And of course, one assume Warren needs a new carrot for Sprott v Skelton IX
