I'd like to know how boxrec confirmed that Sal Sanchez was dropped twice in this bout. I'd also like to know how boxrec confirmed it to be controversial.
I read somewhere that he was also dropped against Antonio Becerra (only official loss) and he was robbed in Becerra's hometown. Any way to confirm this?
Salvador Sanchez vs Juan Escobar
The Sanchez-Escobar bout was on the under card of Sean O’Grady-Romeo Anaya & “Bazooka Limon-Isaac Marin card at LA’s Olympic.
It is written up in the July 78 Ring magazine on page 46.
I was there and IMO, it was a "gift" decision which drew boo’s from the crowd. 8)
Referee Dick Young saved Sanchez’s ass as he was holding on desperately at the final bell. :(
Another round and he would have been stopped.
U can probably find reports of the LA times and Daily News in a library.
I know of no reports of Sanchez’ fight will Becerra other than Dick Mastro’s Official Boxing Record Book Vol. 4, #5, p. 33 and Boxing News Vol. 37, #12, p. 10.

Thanks blue.
Was he dropped in the Escobar bouts? How many times?
Do you have the resources which talk about the Becerra fight? Was he dropped in that fight? Did he deserve to win?
I really appreciate your help with my research. Thanks.
