Froch without question.
Jones has had his day as a top level fighter and is close to being finished completely. He's of course the more recognisable name across the pond, but Calzaghe would walk all over Jones, and get nothing but (almost universal) criticism for it. Jones represents a no-win scenario perfectly.
Really, only Kessler should be acceptable though.

if Froch is ALLOWED a shot at Joe, then he knows this is his "one & only" chance at International & Historical success...knowing this he should win and he deserves the chance and a good win it would be to and America would come calling.
however I don't think Joe fights him (just yet anyway), for Calzaghe's own legacy it really has to be Kessler and finishing with, Hopkins or Jones, providing he beats Kessler, which he WON'T.
So Joe will probably entertain a Yank, NEVER fight Kessler and maybe, just maybe finish with Froch. And then sadly Carl will just be another WBO British MW who really could have added up to more.
Britain should really be EMBARRASSED with their secondary titles and have the balls to regain the credentials and respect they once had.
they really piss me off, truth be known!

Like I said on the other thread. Calzaghe earned a higher level of stature after the Lacy and Manfredo wins. It put him on a different platform. Now he can join the club and take on old men for lucrative fights.
I love how it goes from Kessler/Taylor to Froch/Jones Jr.
Froch is promising, hungry fit and powerful. His mix of power and defensive ineptitude should make it an exciting fight at the very least.
RJJ had his day and this is a disaster waiting to happen. If Warren puts this fight on, i hope it ALL goes tits up. I hope Jones blackmails the fight at the last minute for double money. I hope RJJ runs, grabs, spoils and makes Joe look poor. I hope lots of ppl watch only to get turned off boxing forever because the TV companies that give Warren carte blanche are equally to blame.
Warren can't do this and get away with it. In the long term, it will affect Calzaghe's Hall of Fame stature and hopefully make TV companies wary of exclusive contracts.
Yes, we should be embarrassed. They have so much to offer yet give shockingly little.
This is becoming the APOCALYPSE FVCK of British boxing.

You don't quite make any sense. Froch is a worthy challenger coming off impressive KOs of Tatevosyan, Magee and Dodson. A sure top 10 challenger in his prime. Are you a thick c unt or just pretending to be?Evander wrote:This is unbelieveable.
Froch.
We knew the UK guys are on drugs ... but this is unreal![]()

It is another way of saying we want an easy Calzaghe defence.
FROCH
Get off the coke Great Britain and back into reality.
(Of course, Hopkins, Taylor, RJJ never had any easy defenses. And RJJ was on DRUGS for some of them)
But if you'd been reading the posts, you'd see that Froch is unlikely to happen because Warren - you know, promoter of Calzaghe, bane of British boxing - will want options on Froch.

Undoubtedly Froch. At least he is at his peak as a fighter.
If he fought Jones he would be fighting a ghost. A complete non - fight in every sense. If shouldnt even be entertained. How drained would Jones be at 168? Dangerously so would be my guess.
Is this the sort of 'career defining fight' JC is edging towards? Utterly pathetic.

Froch I suppose although do defeats to Tarver & Johnson really negate the previous good work by RJJ so much that he is now a lesser contender than a relatively unproven Carl Froch?

Froch definately, without a doubt but thats a British view - RJJ is the big name with the big purse - If Froch can beat Inkin I think he has to be considered - I know Froch has a lethal punch but so has Lacy and he couldnt land one on Calzaghe and Froch wouldnt either - Joe would smother Froch who would be retreating to every corner - Points win for Joe by a comfortable margin - Not even sure Froch could beat Inkin never mind Calzaghe although he has improved.
