Kev Anderson vs Eamon Magee

I know this one was penciled in for 11th May but it seems to have gone rather quiet.

Anyone know anything thats going on with this? Maybe the fire at Kirkcaldy Ice Rink has thrown it into doubt?

I think they've changed the date from the original as it clashed with something else. Sorry, can't remember the new date - the point is, the fight is still on I believe.

Magee looked immobile v Takaloo. Like a fella with two iron rods strapped to his legs. Awful. If Takaloo can beat him, this Anderson lad would have to be hopeless not to be able to move and jab.

its gonna be a close one i think.i think anderson is a good puncher but a little over rated.i dont think live with jennings if he gets the chance to fight him.

Anderson has the tools and heart to beat anyone on the domestic scene. Kevin will, however, need a good referee who does his job properly and not let Magee spoil his way through the fight.

I'm not a fan of Jennings style, but I think he'd jab and move his way to a safety first points decision over Kev Anderson (who I am a fan of).

Well Ando just comes forward and trys to rough you up and Jenning's can move well on his feet and counter punch those type of fighters.

Ando's a bit like a domestic level Hatton when Hatton Is the come forward fighter Instead of the way he was against Urango.

it's disgraceful that ALL these guys are getting opportunities while the only world class talent Olusegun is locked out. Olusegun spanks Numbembe = Numbembe gets and wins Commonwealth title. Anderson loses to Numbembe = Anderson gets decent fight opportunity. Magee coming off losses. Pryce gets his arse handed to him by Olusegun = Pryce gets fight on Millennium Stadium show.

Makes me sick.

Olusegun seems frozen out which is dissapointing for us, but relief for Jennings, Minter, Nuumbebe etc.

I think Munyai has a lot - accuracy, combinations, poise, body attack. 1 sided stoppages of Power and Haskins prove a lot for a guy his age.

Munyai doesn't seem to be frozen out. But things are starting to go slow while unworthies like Napa get chances.

Olusegun for me has done just as much, with easy wins over Pryce (Commonwealth 154) and Numbembe (Commonwealth 147).

I was disgusted that his last fight wasn't even televised.

Jackson Asiku has been totally wasted. Incredibly, his ppl can get him nothing better than McKeever and Callaghan, both of whom are more likely to get TV fights (and have in Callaghan's case!).

Things are looking wonky.

When you look at middling Yank promoters like Shaw, Goossen or DiBella, if they have someone able to win a world title they develop the guy, get him TV dates and groom him for the top...Over here they do eff all unless it's a cocky white yob with a local following.

I think Anderson's workrate will be too much. Magee i thought beat Takaloo but he did admittedly look slow that night and was limping past me after the bout so the leg problems are still there. He reportedly looked decent beating Petrovics over 6 last time in Donegal but Petrovics was just a keep busy fighter. Anderson will overwhelm this version of Eamonn i think but i hope Eamonn does it.

That's boxing mate, that's why having the right promoter/manager and being part of their favoured clique is so important. If you can shift tickets you're far more likely to get the opportunities.

still, you have to charge the promoters with incompetence. Munyai, for instance, was mobbed after stopping Power again. Yet Napa gets a Euro title shot, coming off losses!

And also, our own spoiled whiter fighters for ducking these hard nut Africans. They should get some stick too.
