There weren't any 106 pounders in all of N.Y. City - that is amazing.

I double checked the agate in the newspaper for both nights and they had a novice 106-pound fight listed, no open contest.

Also, the two main stories from day one and two had no mention neither.

They will be televising selected fights from both days sometime in the next month, anybody interested in trading for copy, send me a PM :D

Media reports indicate that Willett injured his left shoulder near the end of the 1st round. According to the reports, he was winning the bout prior to the injury. The referee had the doctor check his shoulder twice during the remainder of the bout to make sure it was OK for Willett to continue. Willett tried to box Potente with just his right jab and right hook (Willett is a southpaw) and movement. Potente was aggressive and won the 4-1 split decision.

You are welcome. Maybe you can return the favor re: my questions about James Zimmerman located in California GG results.

The MSG network is showing at least some of the bouts from the 2007 New York GG. I saw the Sadam Ali v. O'Connor bout. Ali looked impressive against a good opponent. Ronney Vargas looked good and Luis Del Valle showed why he is the #1 ranked 125# boxer.

Sigh. We don't get MSG in So. Cal. :( Glad to hear Luis is looking good. He's a great kid. I still think 125 is up for grabs. however.

Dennis - there are some problems in the Central and Northern LBCs that may have impacted Zimmerman's participation. I'm really not sure.
