Thanks Seamus
You have impressive knowledge of Chicago Boxing history thats for sure.
I would be interested in hearing more about Bobby Boyds career if you have any more info.
Also anything about Davey Day.
All the Best.

Thanks Expug. Just used a little info I was compiling. Had to throw you in man for going undefeated and sparring with Ratliff and LaPaglia.

On Davey Day, I know he gave a good account of himself against Henry Armstrong for awhile. They even stopped the bout to look at Armstrong's eye in the 8th, but after that I think it was all downhill for Day. A friend of mine, who's since moved East, told me he knew Davey Day, and said he was a real nice guy who became a Born Again Christian in his last years, but I haven't seen anything on the net so far. Day's name was one of those I heard when I was very little, from my Dad and other old timers.

Don't know too much about Boyd, other than having seen a few pictures and articles. As for the rest, Earl Mastro seems to have really been forgotten for his relatively short career, but his record speaks for itself, and Harold Dade and Roger Bernard, were alot better than their records initially look. They were a couple of guys who consistently fought high level opposition.

Thanks JC. Number 3 is easy too, since Jackie Fields is also deservedly a Hall of Famer.
