Can Danny Green win a world title at LHW?
I would like to see Danny in with Woods or Branco sometime later this year. i think he should not go anywere near Dawson or Erdei, i think they both have styles that are all wrong for Danny.
I hope to see him in the ring again soon, maybe in a eliminator or against a gatekeeper.

Green can definitely beat Woods and Branco/Drews. I have only seen Dawson fight once and I didn't think he was all that impressive. That being said it would still be a tough one for Danny. Not too sure about Erdei.
In the end it depends which Danny Green shows up... If the Green who fought (and dominated) Eric Lucas turns up he can beat anyone. Unfortunatley he has never recaptured that form. If the Green who fought Beyer (second fight) turns up he can lose to any world class operator... Unfortunatly he has recaptured that form (v Mundine). His last couple of fights haven't told us much. He needs to step it up and have face a few real world class challengers. That will tell us where he is and if things go to plan it will give him some much needed confinence and prove he is ready for another World Title shot. I believe in Danny, I think he can do. Whether he does or not is up to him...

I agree with that, Green is very hard to predict, I think the back injury he had, has been his down fall the last few years. I also believe he was cutting to much weight to make 168, he looks big at 175 and seems much stronger at that weight.jezzamundo wrote:I would favour Green to beat Branco and Drews, not so sure about Woods and the other champions. He most definitely has the punch and chin to beat them all, it just depends on the kind of form he's in.
I think Green could beat Drews, Drews wasn't that impressive in his loss to Briggs and could see Green breaking him down over the first half of the fight and stopping him late.Marlin wrote:Drews has beaten Branco for the WBA Title. I realise that Green seems to be heading in another direction now but we know Drews will come to Australia so it is an option that should not be overlooked...
I actually think it could be a pretty good fight but I agree it probably wouldn't go the distance. I really want to see Green with a belt!ben k wrote:I think Green could beat Drews, Drews wasn't that impressive in his loss to Briggs and could see Green breaking him down over the first half of the fight and stopping him late.Marlin wrote:Drews has beaten Branco for the WBA Title. LHW is a pretty open division right now, i mean, i think dawson is way out on top and after that its all pretty close IMO.
i would rank it like this
1. Dawson
2. Erdei
3. Hopkins
4. Ademek
5. Woods
7. Johnson
8. Briggs
9. Tarver
10.Drews
11. Green
i think that anyone from 2-11 cxould beat eachother, and there is some intriguing match ups there.
not saying that dawson is unbeatable but i would favour him over anyone on that list.

Hopkins
Dawson
Woods
Tarver
Erdei
Ademek
Briggs
Johnson
Green
Drews
Branko
That is an interesting list. I am a bit surprised that Roy Jones Jr doesn't get a mention. As depleted as he may be I still think he has way to much for Drews, Woods, Ademek and he would give Briggs and Green absolute fits. Either way I agree that it is an open division so lets hope Green can make the most of it!thunderfromdownunder wrote:LHW is a pretty open division right now, i mean, i think dawson is way out on top and after that its all pretty close IMO.

roy jones dosent seem to want to fight anymore, so i didnt rank him. youre right though even at 38 he could probaly give these guys a tough fight. i think a fit, big puncher like briggs would be a nightmare for roy at this stage of his career. danny has always had problems with slick boxers (beyer, mundine) but im pretty sure danny could crack that chin!Marlin wrote:That is an interesting list.
