Harrison wins in Vegas

Post by bennie »

Olympic super-heavyweight champion Audley Harrison recorded his 13th professional victory with a fourth round stoppage over Argentina's Lisandro Diaz in Las Vegas.

The Briton won with 90 seconds left in the fourth of scheduled eight-rounder.

After a slow start, Harrison dominated Diaz throughout to secure the win.

He used southpaw hooks to the body to wear down his opponent before an overhand left to the head sent Diaz to the canvas. He beat the count, but it was waved off by the referee.

"It just took me some time to figure him out as he was a late sub and I was not too familiar with his boxing style," Harrison said.

"I was feeling my way through the first two rounds and turned it up in the third when I started using my jab and landing combinations.

"I felt like I waited a bit much trying to adjust to his rushes," he added. "Once I figured it out, I found my range."

this was the lazy, flat footed Audley i don't like. for the first couple of rounds. exactly like against calloway.

as soon as he upped the tempo he looked fantastic and the finish was superb.

the thing is, i've noticed audley doesn't keep enough distance between himself and his opponent as he quite obviously should. this was his undoing in the first round vs mathew ellis.

this was a tremendous showing by audley the man is looking the part and no doubt everyones gonna criticvise him as usual.

the guy looked good in the ring and his comments afterwards were also superb and danny williams could not argue with them. also herbie hides words about danny were brutally true and how could he disagree.

did anybody notice audleys punching is getting better and harder.

believe in this man.

His punches were shorter but that's about it.

Audley looks no better than that Calvin Brock they showed on Eurosport the other day (another "prospect") - not bad when he decides to put a few punches together but there's so little of it coming out. These are the kind of fighters the public look at and think crikey if these are the future world heavyweight champs god help us!!
