One of mine big pet hates is this constant comparison of Marquez/Barrera/Pacquiao/Morales - to the fab 5 (the overlooking of Benitez is another pet hate).
Now its not that - I think the current 4 are great a deserve this acclaim. But its the experts (likes of Bert Sugar / Wally Matthews) reasoning "that like the early 80's, there isn't a great Heavyweight champion" and "like this era is post Lewis, the 80's was post Ali and pre Tyson".... One of the most constantly overlooked fighter in boxing history. Isn't it the job of these experts/historians to stop actually prevent the casual fans to consider/remember fighters such as Holmes. Sugar actually did the opposite recently and dismissed Holmes as a non top 10 all time Heavyweight, when actually pressed by Brian Kenny.
