Herbie Hide admits he got chinned by Danny

Post by bennie »

He admitted it twice in his rambling - and somewhat pathetic - post fight interview last night, just as I posted a short while ago.

Yes, I noticed - and he said the words "Knocked out".

That was a funny interview (similar to Tyson's of late - but a bit more tasteful).

Did you here him say something like "What has he (Danny) done to deserve to call me out - knock me out (with an 'is that all' tone in his voice)" :-?

i couldnt understand what hide said, what made it worse the post fight interview seemed to go on forever,

hide knows how widely open the top of the heavyweight divison is, he wants a title shot and doesnt want to risk a fight with williams, imo

The interview was also interestig i the extent to whcih Hide went to explain why the Williams fight is a non-starter.

My opinion (which was clearly Willaims opinion) was that the DW v HH fight was pretty much ON if herbie won that night. I can't remember why I got that impression, might have been BBC propaganda, or from the web somewhere.

Herbie's negativity came as bit of a shock. He was claimimg that no-one wants the fight, but as a domestic tear-up, it would have been a real draw. I can't believe for a moment that Hide isn't aware of that fact.

hide just wants big money.

how could you argue with most of hsi points? what exactly HAS danny done in 8 years? who HAS he beat? like he said, all hes done is lose to julius francis.

that being said, i think hide will wind up fighting danny. a fight v chris byrd seems far fetched and a hard sell in the US unbless herbie goes over there and whacks out a couple of journeyman ie audley harrison.

I actually agreed with some of Hide's comments.

The only reason he needs a fight with williams is if he gets a Big payday, the british and commonwealth titles are meaningless to Hide as he won them at 21

Hey Real deal

Maybe your going a little DEAF

I UNDERSTOOD every word Hide said and he was actually very witty, articulate and concise and i have a University Degree. Hide has a Heavy Jamacian/african accent mixed in with a west country accent so maybe you just found that difficult to understand!

he did rant a bit an dyes obviously his accent might not be too clear to some people on this board, but herbies words are very true.

that chris byrd fight however is too far fetched.

would be interesting though.

Herbie doesn't have even a hint of Jamaican in his accent.

Anyone notice how Hide isn't gunning for his old WBO title this time? Hmm I wonder why that could be... Perhaps he's figured out that there's only ever one result when you match together a huge left cross and a glass jaw.

Ummmm... Hide is African and I thought he was from Norwich which unless my compass is all messed up is in the East country.

Heaven help us with these modern day polytechnics!

And Hide does talk a babbling load of nonsense. I would agree that Williams needs Hide more than Hide needs Williams but Hide has done sweet FA since Vitali, and that includes being KTFO by a fat bouncer himself.

Nasty, considering Hide is from Norwich via Nigeria, he'd have to be a fu***** good impressionist to sound like Jamaican/west country.

He was talking absolute horseshit for the whole interview. He kept repeating that he was world champion.

World champion of what?

WTF has he done on the world scene? (please dont say he beat Bentt, because as good an amateur Bentt was, he was no world class pro)

Okay he had natural ability and could punch (at a level)

Consider the best names he has beat

James Pritchard
Jerry Halstead
Bigfoot Martin
Mike Dixon
Jeff Lampkin
Frankie Swindell
Tony Tucker

Hide was approaching world class when he beat Tucker and Pritchard so convincingly. They were way past their best, but could still fight, but this was a long time ago and Hide's chin makes Lennox Lewis look like George Chuvalo.

Danny KO's Hide with his first clean shot (jab, cross or hook)
