Both look good as expected. And both look very confident too.

Floyd looks A LOT smaller in those shots...but he'll still be too good for the golden boy.

It's gonna be Floyd's night all the way.

At this stage Floyd should be too good. At this weight, I don't know. De la Hoya is an expert, Leonard-esque handicapper and Floyd is carrying a lot of weight if you consider he's a natural lightweight.

The size difference was very notable when they were stripped.

DLH will pile on the pounds and presumably tries to use those advantages to the fill.

I thought he may box on the back foot and force Mayweather to lead but he would be sacrificing his natural strength, weight of punch and size if he did.

Will Mayweather back to the ropes, or simply run. He has to score to win though, he has to stay in the pocket with the long reach and left hook of DLH.

I'm fancying DLH again.

Yes both in fantastic condition, would not have expected anything less. Always been a fan of Mayweather's supreme talent but the guy is an arse, throw in the annoyance of the rest of his clan including father Floyd Snr who turned his back on Oscar quicker than a flash and i am hoping DLH does him over tonight. However i just expect Mayweather to be too quick especially Oscar is in his "Golden years" :D

i think oscar can do it, might have a slight flutter on the DLH left hook scrambelling PBF somewhere on the line, i dont think PBF has the power to trouble DLH.

can PBF keep away from that left hook for 36 mins..??

Arguably, boxing needs Mayweather to prevail in a barn-burner.

SRL V Duran I type fight.

It really needs someone to pick the torch dropped by Tyson and picked up by DeLaHoya.

Pacman is the next best shot at that but he lacks appeal in some quarters.

Trouble is for Floyd, if it's a barnburner then you'd think it's the bigger man's fight.
In a real 50/50 affair, you tend to go with the good big man/little man theory, though I'm backing pretty boy to turn that on it's head tonight.
Hope it's a good spectacle, boxing REALLY needs that.

It could be very close with a controversial decision, ...I'm slightly leaning towards Oscar as I think he will be just that bit too strong for Mayweather... Floyds problem may be that he wont have the power to keep Oscar off him...

De La Hoya looks really well. I think we might see a good fight after all if he's not going to tire.

Oscar looks very motivated, I think Mayweather made a mistake making this a personal thing as its motivated Oscar just like Mayaorga did. If Oscar pressures Floyd I can see him winning as I dont think Mayweather will have the power to keep Oscar off him... if its a chess match then Floyd wins with his speed but I cant see Oscar electing to box in this fight...

Oscar looks at least 2 weight divisions bigger than Mayweather. Mayweather will weigh 152 on fight night while Delahoya will weigh around 166. Thats allot of weight disparity for elite fighters. Oscar was bigger against Whitaker and Quartey but got outboxed then so Mayweather can certainly pull this off. Mayweather needs to stay away from the big shots and keep DLH honest with his own shots. DLH needs to go back to his 135 days where he applied pressure and took punches to land punches. Facinating

PS I think this would be really bad for the sport if Oscar wins. Hes chosen the P4P no1 whos going to be 14lbs smaller on fight night and is cetainly Mr Synical

DLH is not the best pressure guy around though. In fact, come forward pressure is just not his thing.

The weight thing has left me uncertain. Floyd was sitting down on his punches more at 140 and 147 until Judah dropped him (unofficially, but we all saw it...). Even Corley and Sharmbah buzzed him.

Since that part of the Judah fight, he has been much more cautious. But tonight will be different to all his other matches, just in terms of spectacle.

I know Mayweather is the total pro. But how will he react on this biggest stage? Will he try and trade too much? If so that could be a mistake.

I know what you mean about the weights but thats part of todays game and many fighters make use of it, But floyd has still proved himself at 147 so going up to 154 against Oscar is a reasonable fight and if Oscar refused the fight people would have been calling him a chicken.... will Oscar deserve credit if he beats Floyd?.... I think he will in some respects, certainly if he beats him clearly or stops him, but Mayweather will deserve a lot more credit if he wins this fight because Oscar is the much the bigger man... I'm very surprised that so many people seem to give Oscar little chance in this fight from what I've been reading...

I won't give Oscar too much credit if he beats Mayweather unless he takes him to school. Outmuscling a smaller man just isn't that impressive.

The fight should have been at 147. Mayweather could still make 140lbs, maybe 135lbs.

If Ricky Hatton fought Barrera how much stick would he get and how mcuh credit would he get? Because thats the level of size disparity in this fight.

Well thats it, Floyd did call Oscar out and deserves credit for that but I think Oscar deserves some credit too, after all Hopkins gained a lot of credit for beating Oscar and the size difference between Oscar and Hopkins is greater than that between Oscar and Floyd... dont forget that Oscar was originally a 130 pounder himself, ...its not as if he's been a natural 147 or 154 fighter all his career... Oscar is also giving away youth to Mayweather.... also Oscar is putting his reputation on the line too which deserves some credit... I'm not a die hard Delahoya fan usually but I think that he deserves more credit for taking this fight really...
cant really compare this to Hatton fighting Barrera as Hatton hasnt moved up from 122 and he's not older than Barrera... having said all that Hatton has fought plenty of natural 135 pounders in his time... hell Castillo is a 135 fighter isnt he??... Hatton was not exactly over eager to fight Floyd himself I seem to recall....

I forgot to bring my camera lead so i can't upload any of the photos i took at the weigh in. Took some video too but can't upload that yet either.

Theweigh inwas quite a spectacle. i pushed in a break in the cue (accidnetally honestly) so i only had to cue about half the time of most - 2 hours.

The MGM is buzzing. So far i've met Amir at the weigh, Tommy Hearns (rather sadly being led around by Manny Steward) Juan Manuel Marquez and to top it all Tito Trinidad is staying in 2 rooms down from me (biggest suite on the floor).

After all the trouble getting hold of enough tickets i had a couple of cancellations and have spares and going downstairs to see if i can make myself rich in a minute. If any Boxreccer can get to Vegas in time they can have a ringside seat at face value.

Interesting post, I'm disturbed by what you said about Hearns though, ...how is he being 'led around' by Manny?.... dont tell me he's in such bad shape!... they only let him fight a year or so ago!...

Shirow, well done mate, you're in the right town tonight that's for sure - what a great event to be there for - enjoy :TU:

Watched the weigh in just now, and have to admit,Oscar looks supremely confident and right on top of the situation.

He looks like a man who knows EXACTLY what will happen tonight....we'll know soon enough.

Floyd tried a bit of psychological intimidation there, telling Oscar to come over to him for the stare down - and Oscar did exactly the right thing: stayed where he was, stared right at Floyd and made him walk over instead.

A small thing, but I thought Floyd looked a bit put out by it....

Probably amounts to nothing, but it shows Oscar is defintely in the right place mentaly.
