The BBBoC vs World sanctioning bodies.

Post by stujones »

Apparently, according to Secondsout, the BBBoC are discussing the events that unfolded in Reading a few weeks back in the British Heavyweight title fight between Danny Williams and Michael Sprott. Sprott has put in an official complaint and has got all his mates to sign a petition demanding an immediate rematch.

While I still see that it was Sprotts naivety that cost him the bout and that Danny Williams won the bout, I admire the BBBoC for taking Sprotts case into consideration. I will be dissapointed (for Danny Williams' sake) if an immediate rematch get the go ahead as, for me, it is only further stalling Danny's (already stagnant) career. I would like to see Danny forgetting about the domestic title and looking for Samil Sam again, he needs to get in the ring with him to get rid of those demons. He can beat him, if he dedicates himself.

Anyway, the point of this thread was. Does anybody know what happend to the official complaint that Geurmilo (spelling??) Jones' camp put in following his 'loss' to Nelson. This Sprott/Williams case got me thinking about Jones/Nelson. Not only did the WBO not even consider Jones' case, but also he's no longer ranked in their top ten, so is unlikely to get a rematch with Nelson in the near future.

I don't like these double standards, I for one applaud the BBBoC.
