When he was with FW was contracted to fight on Showtime. All the other big names after KT were on HBO, Ricky wanted to fight with the best..leforge wrote:I have to agree with Boxingchat if its on Setanta it wont get a big build up. Why did he choose fight academy?
So the main answer is that FA have no contractual obligations to American TV
Yep, kick the buggers into line because if they're calling the shots it'll ALWAYS be about getting moderate opponents for good money. Never let a fighter or promoter have their way with a TV channel, never ever.overhand_right wrote:The best thing that could possibly happen for british boxing.Final Fight wrote: They both need to be put seriously in check. Not sure why Witters there but hey...
Collazo was a big name loved by HBO but i will give you Maussa and Urango...
But Castillo?? Ricky wouldnt have been able to fight him if he was with Showtime!
And although im not going to join in the 'lets bash Warren' bandwagon do you think that Warren would have let him fight 3 differant world champs, vacate belts to get the bigger fight and basically have free reign to do what he wants??
Me neither

Seriously BoxRec, you really need to look into this rather disgraceful practice! First dear Mr Boxingchat and now me! Sort it out!
