I was out with Carl last night and mentioned this interview to him - said he was a bit more open in it.

He's managing without crutches already.

It's not his knee i'm worried about - it's his thumbs. Since he got a new telly and an Xbox 360 especially :D

I think Froch has all the tools to be a huge star in the biz
Has the tools for sure!
He also has a personality (like him or hate him)
That's good for the sport

Do you think he will take Calzaghe though?

Even an 80 year old Froch wouldn't be an 85 year old Calzaghe due to the fact that Carl's right uppercut wouldn't reach past his zimmer frame. :TU:

it would be great fight
But I think Carl would KO him late

Joe does not have the power to stop froch at this point
Carl's power would get to Joe
I would love to see it
It would be great for UK boxing
Froch is the #1 S.M. in the world (W.B.C.)
Joe should give Carl his chance

Given Calzaghe's granite chin, i cant even give Froch a punchers chance! He would be badly outclassed and stopped by Calzaghe without the Welshman even breaking into a sweat.

Kesseler, i suspect, would also blow him away without to much trouble.

I've not seen Robin Ried fight for a while, i suspect he's well on the slide now, but even still i dont see a clear victory for Froch. I would not be surprised if an old Ried scalped him! (a prime Ried would have mashed Froch up!).

Gomez - It was a lot more open but a lot of it was libellous so BBN chopped it a little as they've had probs with FW. I can send you the extended version if you give me your e-mail.....

You can pass it on to Carl for me if that's ok.....

:o These posts saying that Carl would beat Joe just because of punching power.

Punching power didn't help Jeff Lacy. :TU:

Whose been saying Carl wins solely because of his punch power?

Well he wont win it on workrate, and that's the key.

Froch is quite a lazy fighter in the ring - He has lots of talent, but I don't believe he is more talented than Calzaghe.

The Majority on here mostly mention Froch's power when they think he could beat Calzaghe.

Something like he hits really hard and I'd give him a chance against ANY Supermiddle In the world. :o

If the fight goes the distance then I agree that JC should win the fight on points, but although Calzaghe has a good chin it is not impreganble (Salem and Mitchell have both dropped him).

Calzaghes hands are fucked he breaks a bone virtually everytime he fights and Carls chin is rock solid, so IMO that will give Froch free license especially in the later stages to go hunt Joe down. Froch's fitness is excellent, his speed is impressive and his punch power is excellent.

I reckon Carl catches him with a BIG uppercut then finishes him off with a calculated swarming finish.

Its all immaterial speculation though as the fight won't take place

Mmmm.

Hennessy didn't even want to start talking money - that's irrelevant - he wanted to see the terms & conditions of the contract.

No contract ever arrived.

Here's hoping that they get their heads together and negotiate a domestic-duel beginning of '08.

Bute is no longer the W.B.C.'s #1 rated fighter.
He has made himself unavailable taking that eliminator against Bika.
So Froch is the #1 in the next ratings 100%
He should have been ahead of Bute anyways
Bute has had 3 lackluster performances
and Froch has destroyed everyone that's been put in front of him
