absolute shocker. his career was on a terrible decline with the 2x failed weight making and defeats to Casa and Clottey...But he had that terrific career peak where he beat Casa (2nd), Freitas & Castillo. He was part of a great era of super feathers and lightweights and gave a lot to boxing.

Truly unbelieveable, such a lively likeable young man, only 28 or 29 I think. Thoughts goto him and his wife and child. Very Shocking. He has past exactly 2 years after his greatest win against Castillo.

Gutted. What a sad loss of life and a sad loss to boxing.

Diego Corrales was sitting the seat in front of me at the Brodie- Harrison fight at the M.E.N. Not long after his fight with Castillio.

Came across really good guy. friendly and genuinely shocked by the great reception he received.

He had time for everyone and even spent time cracking jokes with fans. When Brodie and Harrison went at it he put his hands over his eyes and said "man i am getting flash backs"

It gave me a real buzz that night to have met him!

Will be sadly missed. The winner of probably the greatest fight I ever saw!

Could never get over him punching his 8 month pregnant girlfriend in the stomach but when it comes to Boxing he had true grit, heart and passion..he has left us with some of our favourite Boxing memories..

He appeared to have atoned for his sins, let his legacy be that of a true warrior, RIP Chico

If you read the rest of it I was pointing that not only did he go on to have a great career he redeemed his character aswell..no offence intended
