Lightsoot knows something...

Post by bennie »

Lightsoot is a man with inside information on the chief support to Oakey-Milewicz. It could be a cracker he says. Just an educated guess: is Matt Skelton going to make an appearance...and could it be against one Trevor Berbick, who is now with Lloyd Honeyghan?

Steve old boy

You'll have to wait and see because I don't want to drop anyone in the shit and make myself look like a pillock. You've got me chuckling though. I'm just saying we might be in for a decent heavyweight scrap in the chief support, nothing more, but a damn sight better than the main event.

Bit of a shocker about Keith Long, eh?

Yes, Matt Skelton takes part in a 10-rounder in the chief support this weekend. Eugene Maloney has just confirmed it to me, though no opponent for Skelly has been confirmed he said. Unless, of course, Ben knows who the opponent is as well. I wouldn't put it past him.

No, Long's injured (again). It's going to be an overseas opponent.

That's good, I'd like to see Skelton again so I'll be setting the video - that way I can fast forward through the latest Oakey-bloody-Coakey WBUM Of The Month Epic.

American opponent? Hmmmm...I think I saw Butterbean in Burger King the other day.

Good suggestion, Dutch. This would be a tough one to call. Hopefully it will happen as well.

Bennie, is THIS a joke??

You are talking about the drug dealing, absolutely bonkers, Trevor Berbick - one time heavyweight champion and the guy most famous for his 'up and downer' against Tyson.

How the hell has he managed to get into this country, that last time I heard he was refused a licence to fight in Canada and what is he doing with Honeyghun .

With Berbick's current reputation and Honeyghun past reputation, that would be one amazing victory party!!! Hypothetically speaking, Skelton would massacre him.

Or are (more likely) talking about Berbick's son.

Oh dear. The main event has now changed. Oakey will now fight Michael Barney. I no longer have high hopes that my "cracking chief support" is going to happen.

Trevor Berbick?!?! - shot to pieces, mad as a hater, sometimes clergy man, sometimes baby sitter rapist?

I do hope he hasn't found his way to our shores, and if he has, is given a swift one way ticket back out, curteousy of a few Golota specials to the 'nether regions'

Well, Matthew (not Michael, Ben) Barney is not a bad opponent for a replacement. But if Dean Francis' jabs could hurt one has to suspect Oakey has the power to do the same.

Oakey TKO 9, if not then a wide points winner .

So the Board turned down Milewicz as well. There was always that chance.
No BS about Berbick. He wants to fight here, and for his old mate Honeyghan. Come on Stu, give the 49-year-old schizophrenic a chance!

I'd rather see Barney Rubble get a shot at Oakey than Matthew. This fight will be a bore. How does Barney qualify for a shot at the WBU light-heavyweight title? How does anyone? Maybe it's because Barney is from Southampton and Oakey is from Portsmouth. I think I'll watch the Spanish football instead.

Yeah, if we all sign a petition then surely the BBBoC will install as mandatory for Danny Williams.

Very true - apart from the Spanish Zzzzzzzzz Football.

This really shouldn't be for the WBU belt - but then again Oakey shouldn't really be considered a world champion. As a 48 hr replacement I can think of alot worse.

How do you qualify for a world title shot? Ben, tell me how much you weigh and I can tell you if you qualify for a shot a Oakey on Saturday!

LOL!

trevor berbick, one of my all time faves!

trevor may be crazy, but hes a nice man. he'll never get a licence in england, not with his age and thefailed CAT scan back in 2000 that revoked hi slicence.

bizarre fight though. berbicks a handful and durable, as well as massive as fornicate, tends to exhaust these younger pretenders, kind of like when all those bums couldnt knock out homer simpson they would drop of exhasution.

Oakey will beat Barney easily, even without a punch. Maybe Spartacus was too big a risk, he sure put in some big shots against Rasani, remember it took Oakey 10 rounds to get rid of him!

Who were the others refused by the Board?

Hmm think i'll join you and catch La Liga myself, should be a decent fight mind you given the Portsmouth-Southampton connections, Barney should be in for a warm reception 8) Oakey will win though, i had Dean Francis winning against Barney and he only had one bloody arm! Oakey will stop him mid to late rounds imo.

Damn, no La Liga! Well, I can't watch Oakey-Barney, I'll have to take my wife out instead.

The chief support is wank, apologies. Matt Skelton will fight Costi Marin. This is a poor, poor match. Marin is 5-3 but has lost twice to Dave Clarke which pretty much says it all. I saw Marin and Clarke fight in Leeds a year ago and Dave recorded his 1st win at the 12th time of asking. Marin, is an ex Romanian strongman, and is as crude as they come. He loves throwing haymakers which miss by a mile.

I thought Skelton V Bakhtov was a bit too good to be true given the late notice, but I thought they could do better than Costi Marin!

We should know better than to expect anything else from Sports Network.

Well i suppose this fight is designed to keep Skelton active so it may help him burn of some of those excess pounds.
