Actually James, I think Fried Bread was saying Tszyu was better than De La Hoya.

here's my take on the hatton-mosley fight.

i'd favour mosley to beat hatton.

he's tough enuff to deal with hatton's pressure and he has the power and skills to cause big problems.

the main danger is mosley's short shots that are poweful and hatton's head is often a little high when he comes in.

ricky's only chance are those unpopular clinching tactics. make it messy and don't allow mosley the space.

Actually states, I do believe you are right.

Not sure whether I agree with that statement or not. There's more big names on Oscar's resume than Kostya's, but that is because Kostya didn't belt hop and just cleaned out his division instead.

I'd have them on a par, historically, Oscar will get the nod when it comes to his overall career, but was he a better fighter? Not sure about that either way.

I wish Mosley had done 140 after 135, a fight between him and Tszyu would have been absolutely mouthwatering. The problem for Kostya, is I don't think he could have stopped Mosley, not if the huge Forrest couldn't, and Forrest hit him absolutely everything in his arsenal.

Mayweather is an entirely different proposition. He doesn't have a great deal of power to discourage Hatton, and doesn't seem able to fight at a great pace and still be effective, which would be Hatton's key advantage.

LOL, am i missing something? was saying that i think TSZYU is a better, though not bigger, scalp than oscar. which is why i addressed molyneux's/tsukiyoma's 'bigger/better' point by outlining one or 2 things about tszyu and oscar.

like i say, tszyu was a fearsome puncher/technician who stayed at one weight and barring one hickup was dominant. i don't hold the tszyu loss to phillips against him too much as dlh had a bad one himself getting outjabbed by sturm.

de la hoya got all these big fights but was so IMPARTIAL in all of them. something badly missing in almost every big fight.

hatton has had only one fight at welter, so unfair to judge him on that, perhaps he was not in quite top nick, hatton is a big LW (width not height !!)

hatton v cotto would be fantastic but wont happen.

hatton v pbf fantastic but wont happen.

hatton v witter.. great, but it wont happen.

as for hatton and pbf being at their peaks, i disagree, i think hatton peaked about 3 years ago, nothing really since (post kostya) has convinced me otherwise.

the yo yo diet stuff has taken its toll i feel, the big fights were missed straight after kostya, thats when the cotto/pbf match up should have happened. but hatton chased the pounds..and look whats happened.

im not knocking hatton, i actually like the guy, but i feel he is passed his peak, missed the boat, chasing the £££££££'s and not chasing greatness.
