No, that was Bryan O'Connor who is a decent boxer. O'Connor was outclassed by Sadam Ali at the New York Metro Golden Gloves.
Jeremy Bryan is not at the Eastern Trials since he won the MW Trials last month. Jeremy Bryan is better than Bryan O'Connor and heavier too (141 instead of 132).
Jesse Lubash (Munhall,Pa) who is nationally ranked
I looked at the USAB rankings, 4th quarter 2006, JOs and 1st quarter 2007. Don't see him listed anywhere.........????
He will receive 25 ranking points for each of his quarter-final finishes in the MW Trials and the Nat'l GG. He may also get some ranking points for the Eastern Trials.
I haven't heard of too many of these guys, but I see Mark Davis is in at 125. Can anyone tell me what his story is? Where has he been? His return would certainly make things more competitive at 125.
Mark was in jail for some time last year. Good to see he's out. I don't know the particulars; I'm just sorry to see he appears to be going the "bad boy" route. I first met him when he was 13 and would never have believed he'd be going down the wrong road when he got older. I just hope the incarceration is his first and his last.
Well my prognostication was wrong once again in the 201# class. Joey Dawejko did change the outcome in his rematch with Norman Neely and did so decisively 15-7. Lenroy Thompson dominated Andres Taylor by a score of 24-6. Danny Calhoun won as I predicted - see I didn't get them all wrong. I will go with Calhoun over Dawejko and Thompson over Filerio in tonight's semi-finals.

emile - many of these guys have been around for awhile. 132-Todd Dekinderen has boxed for 7 years or more, including in the military for several years. 132-Miguel Gonzalez boxed in the 2004 Trials.
141-Some new names defeated some familiar ones.
152-Lubash has been around for awhile but not too much on the national scene. David Roman has been around for a number of years, especially in the J.O. scene and is either 18 or 19 years old. Femi Guri - open scene for a couple of years. Robert Burwell - just coming out of years boxing in the J.O. division, winning the 2006 PAL 15/16 year old division. He like many of the top J.O. guys (especially in the lower weight classes) can make a big splash in the open class.
165-Dominic Wade-long time J.O. boxer winning 2 Nat'l JO titles and many others. Denis Douglin-been around for a long time but with only 2-3 years in the senior open division (mostly J.O. boxing). Herve Duroseau-just 3 years or so of boxing. Abraham Han comes from a boxing/martial arts family in El Paso, TX. He won the 2005 Ringside Tourney and has been on the national scene for at least 2 years.
178-Dennis Hasson and Mark Tucker both are veteran boxers. Tucker is only 19 or 20 but has tons of J.O. experience and several years of national open-class experience. Hasson has many years of national open-class experience. Alexander Johnson - don't know much about him except that he is very muscular and strong. Aleem Whitfield is a young boxer-17 who does not seem to have the strong J.O. credentials to make waves his first year in the senior open-class.
201-Joey Dawejko-17 with tons of J.O. experience. Danny Calhoun-former U of Cincinnati football player has just over a year of national open-class experience. He has boxed in 2 Nat'l GG, the MW trials and now the Eastern Trials. Danny is set to graduate from UC this month. He has been in the ring with many top 178/201 boxers over the last year. Lenroy Thompson-has only been boxing for 2 years or so, but is doing very well. Victor Filerio, 22, has been boxing for a long time with J.O., U-19 and Open experience. I read a report that said he won his regional tournament and was already qualified for the US Championships. If that is true, he is not supposed to be competing at the Eastern Trials and could be DQ'd from his Regional spot.
201+ - Excell Holmes - lots of open experience. Reginald Jackson has at least 3 years of National open-class experience. Alonzo Lumpkin-boxing open since at least 2002. Kassim Howard - 25 or 26, has been around for awhile.
Who's your facorites to take the Title in which wieght classes.
I say: 141lbs - Oscar Molina (Has a game plan and sticks to it. Good all around boxer.)
I think you mean Javier Molina. Oscar isn't at the Eastern Trials.

Thanks for the info Dennis. I was probably being a little overdramatic - I've heard of more than a couple, but I don't know a lot about them and I guess I didn't expect these winners to be serious Oly team contenders (outside of Davis), but I'm probably wrong about that. I'm trying to beef up my knowledge a little, so thanks again.

Luis Rangel, did extremely well kept his opponent scoreless throughout the bout, with Luis and Marco both in the US championships at 106, it should be interesting they may have to face each other.

Marco is trying to qualify at 119# at the Western Trials.
