I think Cotto's the future of welterweight. Judah won't be able to take half the shots that Quintana did.

Cotto, I'd say, has not only the punch repertoire but the physical strength to shit up Judah. Not to mention he's very well schooled and when healthy always seems to have the right punch for the right situation.

I think a lot of ppl lack enthusiasm about Cotto because he's not a top 10 p4p fighter already. My attitude is so what. Cotto's at the right weight and I already made the mistake of picking against him for the Quintana fight. Cotto fought like a well rounded pro in his very first fights and despite a bad phase where he was a ghastly unhealthy weight drained person he's in the right division and has several exciting rivalries ahead...

Surely he'll fight Hatton one day? If the Top Rank-Golden Boy rift keeps Mosley out of the picture, there's also the Paul Williams-Margarito winner & loser, not to mention Clottey and Cintron.

Lest we forget, Cotto's been a pro for going on 7 years now. By the time Floyd Mayweather was 7 years a pro, he was already established as one of the p4p best.

I wonder how Judah's speed will effect Cotto? I expect Judah to start well and do well for the first 4 or so rounds with Cotto coming on down the stretch withhis bodypunches taking there tole. Good fight.

Judah is a far better boxer than Cotto. When hes on hes P4P - skill, angles, speed, timing, knock out power. I think they think Judahs chin will fail against Cotto whos a banger. but what if Judah lands 1 of his haymakers on Cotto? What if Cotto outboxes Cotto for 12rounds?

You can't be certain on any Judah fight but I fancy an upset here.

Well, ppl's careers unfold at different paces. Look at Calzaghe's or Hopkins' for god's sake. Neither had a 'defining fight' until 8-10 years into their careers.

Mayweather was a genuinely great super feather - proved in fights with Corrales, Chavez, Hernandez & Hernandez - but let's face it did very little between the years 2002 and 2005. I think as Cotto reaches his mid career stage he will get some outstanding matchups against Clottey, Mosley, Paul Williams and Margarito, and this is where he will define himself.

Long after Hatton and Taylor have flagged and disappeared, I predict Cotto will still be going strong. They both did things the right way and gunned for "The Man" but frankly neither look very good; in fact, they look ready to be taken.

Cotto has been brought along patiently and steadily - indeed, he has fought good opponents: Torres and Ndou are alphabet champs, Malignaggi, Pinto & Quintana were unbeaten, Bazan, Bailey & Judah ex champs.

Now is his time. Welter crown's effectively vacant.

Mayweather isn't going to fight any of these terrific welters because he has been overpaid so much for shit fights (faded Mitchell and Brusseles) not to mention topping a dull blockbuster, meaning he will never fight anyone other than DLH...yawn. Can't keep your p4p or welter crowns doing that.

totally disagree with this. Judah is good and fast. But any sign of problems and he's ready to submit in subtle ways. Cotto has a nice repertoire, great patience, correct punching and can find his way out of a crisis. How you came to the conclusion that Judah is a "far better boxer" puzzles me. So Judah can pot shot with fast punches over the 1st 4 rds...

Judah could outspeed Cotto or Cotto could catch Judah and stop him. Either way i think it's a closer than the 4-1/5-1 on you can get for Cotto.

Agreed, Cotto is technically far better than Judah. Judah is just quick and powerful, his defence is virtually non existent, and he leaves himself wide open to counters.

As said, he is also mentally weak, and he falls apart when the going gets tough.

Judah always looks exceptional against lower tier fighters, but he has scant few victories over top level performers.

I think Cotto will ride out the storm and tear Judah a new arsehole.

I wonder if this could be another Spinks-Judah 2. Where Judah has to win to stay in the top end of boxing or go into Oblivion.

Whatever happens, it's clear that Judah will always be able to rely on his intelligence and charming personality outside of the ring once his boxing career comes to an end.

The Malignagi fight showed Cotto to be 1 dimensional and a little clumsy when given angles and movement. Against Torres/Corley he showed himself to be face first fighter who ate punches.

Cotto is seriously stepping up in class. We say Witter hasnt fought the best but neither has Cotto - Torres (got a gift), Corley (hurt him), Malignaggi (outlanded him), Ndou (went 50-50), Quintana (unproven) are all good but all barely top 10ers. All showed Cottos weaknesses and frailties.

Now Cotto could certainly KO Judah but if he doesn't Judah will win

Judah has p4p speed but that's it.

Any talk of him being p4p is nonsense.

Cotto in the 9th is my prediction Zab will come out fast but the body shots will get to him and slow him up by the mid rounds.

Just watched the vid, and couldn't make out what the hell they were yabbering about to be honest.

No doubt Zab is a prize twat, but I enjoy watching him most of the time: there's usualy drama you have to admit, which is little surprise as he's such a drama queen. Plus he hits hard. And he's never ducked any body.

I think there is big danger for Cotto in the early rounds. Judah starts very fast and his punch could have a major effect on Cotto if he catches him.

Cotto looked vunerable in the past...that might have been the weight making, or maybe that's the chink in his formidable armour.

He's the favorite here, but Judah is on home turf and will be up for this fight big time. Should be fireworks and I'd love to see it...

This is a good shout and exactly how i see the bout going. Judah is dangerous for the first 4 rounds when he has optimum speed and good power but he is mentally weak and i expect Cotto's big body shots and stalking pressure to break down a dispirited Judah around the 8th.

Judah looks the business against guys like Jaime Rangel and Wayne Martell but at the top level is found lacking. Tszyu blasted through him, Mayweather was on the verge of a stoppage before the melee and Spinks outfoxed him first time, i know he destroyed Spinks in the rematch but Spinks was never that good anyway.

I had Judah winning the first by a point or 2, Spinks is proving people wrong time and again and has beat Mayorga and Kazamin for 2 Ring Belts, imagine if he adds a third ring belt against Taylor :o

He also lacks any authority in his work, his punches are really nothing more than love-taps.

Mayweather isn't a huge puncher, but he showed against Oscar that he can land clean, hard, accurate punches which stop fighters in their tracks.

yet he was given better angles, movement, from the southpaw side by the far better Quintana. Cotto had to take some nasty body shots yet he coolly, ruthlessly and efficiently broke the fellow PR's spirit.

I see it as being down to weight. at 140 Cotto was a drained and vulnerable fighter. at 147 he appears just right.

I see it as if Judah can't get rid of Cotto early - which he can't - then Judah is in for a beating.

Cotto didn't look like a monster against Ukral, which leads me to ask, how good was Quitana and how good was he? I don't think Quintana was in the same league as Judah.

As for Judah - hes a fighter you can't bet your house on. But I just have a feeling he can pull this 1 out. Definately a fighhter I have a soft spot for because of the excitement with the speed/power/skills/movement.
