A six rounder can be nothing but good for Bryant. I'm not sure why he fighting higher than he has to, I can only assume that's where the fights are for him? Who arranges his fights?

Not sure who arranges his fights, I must get into contact with him, I haven't actually talked with him since January. Not sure why he would be fighting at middleweight, I'd take a guess that what you said is right "that's where the fights are for him". As an amateur, Robbie frequently fought at 75kg while weighing around 70kg, purely to get a decent fight, as at 69kg there was no competition, with the exception of fighting interstate champions, which only happened a couple of times a year.

I know Dave as well, he owns Boxing For Fitness in Victoria Park, where I used to train. I knew that Dave managed Robbie, wasn't quite sure about whether he had total control of the match-making, but that makes sense.

Dave & Craig Christian, who trains Indonesian Seran, would've got together. If Dave didn't take the fight, Craig would've had to look interstate & Bryant might've missed out on a spot on the show.

Dave & his team were very ambitious.
After his second fight they wanted to fight for OZ title…Can’t remember if it was Cruiser or Light Heavy, but I do remember knocking it back being a member of ANBF Ratings Committee at the time.
The Ratings chair asked me what I thought and my answer was short & sweet....NO!

Robbie's fight against Andreas Seran was to be on the undercard of the Green-Siaca fight, which has been cancelled. Green will be fighting a to be confirmed opponent on the 18th of July instead. According to BoxRec, Bryant-Seran is still on, but for the later date.

I am still tipping Bryant to win by a KO/TKO, perhaps in the 4th round (the fight is scheduled for 6). Still, I was really looking forward to seeing Robbie fight soon, and even moreso to seeing the explosive Green-Siaca matchup.

I had a look at this today as well. I agree with your assessment of how the Seran fight should go. Obviously it would have been better if it was on the Green undercard but what can you do?

I was just checking Robbie's record, and it looks like he has a fight coming up before the Seran fight on the Green undercard. It is scheduled for the 23rd of June, just two weeks away, with the opponent yet to be confirmed. I am assuming it will most likely be another Fijiian, Phillipino or Thai fighter, probably with a sketchy record given the late notice.

Hopefully it should be a decent tune-up for the Seran fight, although I think Robbie should beat Seran by a KO/TKO or at least a clear points victory.

The upcoming fight will be at the Helenic Centre in Northbridge, I plan on being in Perth for that weekend, so I might check it out.

Robbie's next opponent is a Thai fighter named Yingyai Sithdara. His record is 0-2-0, both his losses were by KO and TKO. The fight will be at Middleweight, although Sithdara has only fought at Super Middle before. It is scheduled for 4 rounds.

This fight will be the only really weak opponent on Robbie's resume thus far. I am tipping a TKO win to Robbie in round 3.

I'm just really interested in tracking his career, seeing as I've known him for a few years before he turned pro, and watched him in several amateur bouts. He used to be my trainer when I used to go to a boxing gym, and he lives just 1km from my parents place. I've moved to the country since, so haven't been in contact with him since January.

He's a nice guy, and in my opinion, a future Australian champion at the least. Check the beginning of my post to see my opinions of his chances in the future.

No, I wasn't at the fight, but a few guys I know from the gym were. I saw the fight later on DVD. What did you make of it, it would be nice to know from someone who was at the fight. I reckon Tongia won the final round and maybe the first, but Robbie definitely won because of the 10-8 in the 2nd and clearly outboxing Tongia in the 3rd.

To be honest I'd heard some good things about him and thought he did enough to win, but was a little dissapointed. Perhaps my expectations were a little high

Oooh, trying to pick a fight aren't you? Or is that really your honest opinion? I could actually see why some people would agree with that, seeing as Robbie was tiring, and Tongia had the better of the final round. I would love to see a rematch at some point in time, especially if it's a 6 rounder or more. I would tip another unanimous decision to Robbie, only this time even clearer (even if it's in Queensland!).

Robbie doesn't even walk around at 160lb, he's only fighting there because that's where the fights in WA have been. He was actually 3lb lighter than Tongia when they fought. I agree that Tongia has done more since they fought though, hopefully Robbie will start going interstate to fight soon.

Oh no, Robbie's once perfect record is now tarnished! :(

His result with Yingyai Sithdara was a technical draw, at 0:55 of the second round. Not sure what happened, just somewhat glad that I didn't waste my money and go to see the fight like I was considering doing!

Was anyone here there to see it? I would be very interested to know what happened. I was tipping a TKO3 win to Robbie, seeing as Sithdara's record coming into the fight was 0-2-0, both losses by KO.

Who will be watching the Green-Griffin card? Robbie Bryant (3-0-1) is facing Andreas Seran (5-3-1). Seran has done well against Aussie's in his last two fights, with a draw against Adam Leavers and a ten round majority decision loss against undefeated Junior Talipeau. He is also the current Indonesian Welterweight champion.

Robbie had a technical draw (accidental head clash, resulting in a cut to Robbie) in his last fight, and was allegedly knocked down.
