David Haye - Nov 14

Post by Priff »

It's not to go before Haye challenges for the Southern Area Cruiserweight Title against Gary Delaney.

Is this too soon/right on time?
Can someone fill me in on Delaney?

After the Mock fight, you gotta feel that anyone who can punch hard has a chance against Haye.

There was talk of a Mock remtach before the Delaney fight, which would have been a better idea IMO.

Interesting to see how he fares against Delaney and I bet his management are in a bit of a quandry. I mean, the wheels well and truly nearly came off last time out so what do you do? He's had absolutely no opposition (Tony Booth aside) to really test him and was probably way over confident last time out, but at the same time, they have to step up the level of competition so he can improve.

It doesn't bode well that the first time he got clocked by a good punch he went over and nearly out though does it, but hey, Nigel Benn was walking through low-grade opposition and had to pull a wonder-punch out of the bag to beat the first real half-decent opponent he came up against.

Anyone remember the punch that knocked out Anthony Logan? Pheweeeee!!!! Benn had missed with a huge right hand and looked as if he was going to fall over, only to twist, turn and launch a nuclear-powered left hook that left Logan down and out.

Yeah Benn was so lucky not to have been stopped in that 2nd round, the ref could easily have jumped in what with the amount of clean shots he was taking.

But as poor Logan found out - it's never over till it's over.

Anthony Logan nearly knocked Benn's head OFF, but Benn showed good character and power to win.

I remember the fight well, It was a great scrap.

If my memory serves me correctly, Eubank outpointed Logan over 8 rounds.

Haye is fragile, but he will demolish Delaney, who is gone.

Delaney looked terrible against Bonson, and it wasnt just because Bonson is awkward.

Delaney should retire.
