if Warren were to win over Froch, would he not wait until Joe retires/vacates and build Froch as the next WBO champion?boxingchat wrote:Then the purse offer is void. Then he wil have to face another Purse Offer one to fight Reid for his British title. Either way it looks likely that he will have to lose a title due to a mandatory pile up. Or lose them both and fight JC!!!

I think this is just a nuisance bid. I think chances are that this fight would have gone away had Warren not made a big enough bid for it to happen, it's not like anyone outside of Adamu wants it. These sort of things fall through all the time, due to lack of interest.
I'm sure that Froch will dump the belt, the commonwealth title isn't really of any relevance in this day and age, and there's nought to be gained from fighting Adamu again.

If nobody wanted it why did Froch's own Promoter try and do a pre-purse offer deal with the Ghanaian and then bid £40k plus for it himself?
Strange theory your's James....

Sorry mate who would hunt who!! - Froch wouldnt be able to deal with Joes workrate and would dive into every corner to avoid him - Lacy who can also land bombs had no chance with Calzaghe and neither would Froch - However I dont think we will ever get to see who is right and who is wrong, its never going to happen - If this forum is still going in the 2020s the same arguement will still be going strong (thats if Froch does prove himself and wins a world title) otherwise Froch will be long forgotten - That low arm against a fighter cautious of the big uppercut works at a lower level but not against Calzaghe, Kessler or Inkin - I think Froch has reached the level where he can look good and win fights but at the top he will be outworked and possibly stopped - I have to admit I dont like the man but thats another issue - To be up amongst the elite your defense has to be as good as your workrate and Froch wont in my opinion cut the mustard with the people I have mentioned - Time will tell, he still has to fight a genuine world class fighter and going backwards to take on Reid is not a good move and is proving f--- all.Chambers2 wrote:Hes proven he can send people to sleep quicker, Taylor-JC is 12 round bore. JC-Froch is an 8 round dramatic demolition, Froch would hunt him down then lay the BIG uppercut on him. GAME OVER!!!!Tsukiyomi wrote:He's proven more than Froch though.

Sure, it must have been FW's fault he turned it down. On here everything is FW's fault. The fact Froch doesn't actually want the fight just doesn't fit your criteria.Chambers2 wrote:Yeah right, IF true it must have been a pittanceboxingchat wrote:Chambers2 wrote:![]()

He's been offererd the fight, in writing, no options and for more than he's ever earned in his whole career (Probably combined too) yet still he turns it down. But hey, that's all down to FW cos you lot say it must be in the gospel according to Boxrec.
none of us know the full story anyway. it seems like there's just too much hassle with rival promoters cooperating. ppl like sky, setanta, itv, the beeb need to get stuck in, raise their standards and demand these fights.
can't see why froch would turn down joe - froch has power and joe is easy to hit and near the end - but if there was a valid reason would we hear it here?
we can't lay all the blame of frank. but let's look at how it is in america. if there's money in it the likes of arum, king, shaw try to make the fights. ok, you have GBP being carried by HBO and all...but you'd say in the US there was a healthy competitive market.
