all this talk about ITV pulling the plug etc i thinking that there may be more to this Sprott Injury than it seems

only time will tell but do you think this is it now for SN and ITV

or am i thinking to much into it ?

The last thing FW needs right now is a fighter pulling out of the main event due to an injury - He seems to be trying to make amends for the last shocking bill by putting on a cracker for September and a pretty decent one for June - Things are going wrong yet again and ITV must be well upset which is a worry.

Why is it when a footballer gets injured it's accepted he doesn't play whereas a Boxer, who ultimately puts his life on the line, gets hurt he's 'bottled it' or there is a conspiracy by the Promoter?

He's hurt his leg, has seen a Doctor who has passed him unfit, simple as that. Shit happens.

Believe it or not, cancelling a show is a very expensive business.

Fair enough, but SN were guilty of the same type of rumours concerning Witter pulling out of the Pinto fight, weren't they?

Pull outs in boxing, especially at crucial times, will always attract the air of suspicion.

Look at the Guzman’s hand injury that prevented him from fighting Katsidis, the announcement of which followed soon after it became apparent that the diminutive Dominican was being lined up for a crack at Pacman. It looked suspicious to say the least.

Call it bad luck, fate or whatever, but SN have fallen foul of some ill timed pull outs in recent years and when this one happens at a delicate stage in their renegotiation of their exclusive TV contract, eye brows are bound to be raised…

Because unlike football, boxers are able to avoid fighting other fighters. Hence excuses are often found.

Footballers have no reason to really feign injury, other than just being lazy bastards who don't want to play, and these days they cannot really get away with that so easily.

I'm not talking about this particular case in this instance, merely that the motivations for boxing and football are entirely different.

Out of interest, if a show is cancelled, does the venue still demand payment, and are the fighters on any guarantee of payment? what other costs would the promoter be liable for?
