It seems quite obvious to me that Scott is sick, I'm not making excuses for him and I sympathize for the people he has hurt, but he has also singlehandedly wrecked his own career and that doesnt seem to be the actions of a sane man who is just a bit of a thug... its the actions of a guy who needs help...

I don't mean to throw cold water on this idea of getting help but the "help" you are referring to does not exist.
Addictive personalities are the flavour of the month in mental health circles and the general feeling is that intervention is only possible when an individual reaches "a consistant state of personal motivation" That phrase translates as the utter bottom of the barrel.
Scott is probably drinking up to 10 times more than even those around him are aware and his body will be going through a period of rapid decay.
It will be a miracle if he's seen in the ring wearing his gloves again.
Definately, No More Bail!

I dont think its an issue of saving his career anymore but an issue of saving his life.... but I wouldnt be surprised to see him back in the ring at some point after the moneys run out and maybe after a period inside... but I really dont think prison is the answer for him... he needs psychiatric and medical treatment... but the truth is that there are far too few places like that available... he will probably end up going to prison and will come out worse than ever... if he does come out that is.....

Looks as if Harrison is stuck in Spain, Think the judges expect him not to return if he leaves.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FORMER world boxing champion Scott Harrison failed to turn up at court yesterday because he was appearing before a judge in another country.

The 29-year-old was due to attend Glasgow Sheriff Court over an alleged fracas at a pub in the city last year.

He was in court in Spain, where he is accused of brawling in a bar.

The troubled boxer was attending a bail hearing in Coin, west of Malaga, where he applied to have his passport returned but was denied.

Meanwhile, his two co-accused were appearing before a sheriff in Glasgow in connection with an incident at the Counting House bar on 22 April last year. Paul Hinde, 29, and Christopher Lennon, 21, both from Rutherglen, have pleaded not guilty.

Harrison, from Cambuslang, denies several offences including assaulting a police officer and breach of the peace.

At the court in Glasgow yesterday, his solicitor, Marie Connelly,

said: "He was unable to travel because he has had a personal appearance in court in Spain this morning to try to have his passport returned, but his passport was held and he was therefore unable to make it here today."
