Audley 'shot' before he fought Sprott?

I was watching Harrison -Sprott again recently and I just wondered whether, because he left it so late to turn pro (now 35 I think), it is possible he was on the slide and therefore sailed through his peak years without even being a pro?
I'm not a particular Harrison fan, I just wondered what other people thought.

Interesting theory, but I think his primary shortcomings (stamina and punch resistance) were evident from the start of his pro career. the matchmaking positively screamed a fear in his ability to take a punch (which ominously mirrors amir k's opponents). Even in the danny w 'demolition' he looks aghast when put on the back foot.

I wonder if the sprott result could've happened earlier, against ellis or krence?

it nearly did, but neither had the weight to go behing the decent shot the landed....

Audley was always an accident waiting to happen in the professional game.
His style and physique was always suited to the 'fencing' over 4 x 2's, where his lack of punch or stamina didn't matter.
I think that Price fella will have the same problem.
They are both very talented and world beaters over 4 x 2's but 12 x 3's with unfussy refereeing is a different game all together

After Beijing 2008, i hear. Many of the current crop of England, Scottish and Irish amateurs plan to do the same.

I’m looking forward to Ireland's Kenny Egan, one of the best pound-for-pound amateurs in Britain and Ireladn, turning over. He stopped Commonwealth medallist Kenny Anderson in one-round with bodyshots a couple of years back.

Audley never had anything to shoot in the first place.

Kenny is one of the best light heavies in Europe at the moment.

I have heard off numerous people he won't ever turn pro.
He get's top,top funding and enjoys the amateur arena.

Even heard he wants to stick around for 2012 olympics!
Shall wait and see what happens with him,either way,he is,as you say,a quality fighter.

Price and the rest who plan to turn pro after the olympics have got a massive obstacle in front of them just qualifying for the games!!

I would'nt be overly suprised if Britain did'nt have any boxer in Beijing
