US Championships Question

My understanding is that there are 14 regional teams, 4 military teams, the armed services championships team, the NMU team, the National PAL team, the Midwestern Trials team, the National Golden Gloves team, the Eastern Trials team and the Western Trials team. However, since the US Championships format changed this year, they might not have the 4 individual military teams and only the Armed Services Championships Team. There is also the Pan Am Games At-Large boxers and I suppose there could be other at-large boxers in the tournament.
So the maximum number per weight class could be as low as 21 or as high as 26 or 27.

The USA Boxing Fact sheet said 25 boxers per Weigt class, With 3 already at the quarter finals .That would leave 22 to box for 5 spots. 18 byes w/ 2 bouts the first day. then 10 bouts on day 2 then 5 bouts on day 3. Unless USA Boxings number was wrong or someone has found a different way to do it, This is how I believe it has to be.

My fact sheet didn't have that info. If your numbers are correct and that number of boxers actually register at the tournament, then you are correct with the number of byes and bouts. The odds of boxing on Saturday June 1st are pretty low unless they move some of the bouts that would be held on Sunday to Saturday and then those winners wouldn't box again until Monday.

Dennis, The fact that it would go from a multipler of 5 and then change to 4 would causes it to be 6 days of comp. If they start on the 2nd and have the championship on the 8th they have a day to spare if they start on the 3rd there is no break.

Thursday, June 7 - men do not box, women's finals
Wednesday, June 6 - men's semi-finals: 2 bouts, 4 boxers
Tuesday, June 5 - men's quarter-finals: 4 bouts, 8 boxers (3 with auto byes and 5 who compete to get to the quarters)
Monday, June 4 - men's round of 16: 5 bouts, 10 boxers (because of 3 auto byes into the quarters)
Sunday, June 3 - men's round of 32: 10 bouts, 20 boxers (ditto)
Saturday, June 2 - men's round of 64, if needed (only if more than 23 boxers in a weight class including the 3 auto bye boxers)
Most likely June 2 will have some bouts that should be conducted on Sunday moved to Saturday to make Sunday not as long of a night.

Hal you had it right before. Here is the schedule:

Wednesday, June 6 - men's semi-finals: 2 bouts, 4 boxers

That is correct but the men still have an off day on June 7 with the championships being conducted on June 8.
