Huck beats Tokarev / shows up Warren & Enzo

i read that unbeaten prospect Marco Huck just fairly beat deadly cruiser Vadim Tokarev in a huge risk fight for the German based fighter. Tokarev - a skilled, seasoned banger. We'll see next week if it was a fair result on Sky.

Enzo and Warren - this is how it's done.
Yet they are content with none other than - Bobby Gunn.

Huck has earned the right to fight for the IBF cruiser crown contested by Wlodarcyzk and Cunningham in Poland tonight. Yet I would rate him higher than Enzo in the top 10 at 200-pounds.

This guy is only 22 years old, with a 19-0 (14 KOs) record.

The fight is shown on norwegian TV at the moment (it was an early fight on the card, main event is postponed due to the german cup final), after 10 rounds I have Huck up 96-93 (Huck had 1 point deducted).

In the last part of the fight he looked really good. I had him winning 116-111.

I read that Tokarev was being very defensive. Is this true?

Huck must have been too big, too fast and too busy.

Huck looked very good. He made Tokarev look one-dimensional at times.

Maccarineli would do him in my opinion, that is if he's ever let off the leash.

Huck just beat someone more complete and more deadly than Maccarinelli. And he's only 22. This guy could be a major player at cruiserweight.

I would pick Huck slightly over Macarinelli, although they will never fight, Enzo is treading a paper route.

Another text book example by Sauerland on how to bring along a fighter perfectly: the right type of undercard learning fights, then he times it beautifuly as he steps him up into the world scene.

While the unbeaten Vadim Tokarev is a crude but dangerous puncher, the Germans knew he had a suspect chin, and sure enough Huck was able to hurt him and keep him honest and at long range.

A great win for the cocky and confident Huck, who looks to be a real force on the cruiser scene now: showed a good chin and boxing brain for such a young fighter, and he looks a good bet to be another world champ for the German outfit.

He dressed up at captain Hook for the promos, and that's his nickname too ( Huck is pronounced hook ).

Arthur looked back to his best in the main event. The brave Canadian gave it his best, but was brutaly dismissed in the end.

the fights I saw of Tokarev he was precise, compact, correct. An Americanized Russian, with body punching added to his refined skills.

I had him down to unify the division. Amazing win by Huck. Yet another excellent young fighter coming through. Only a week after Pavlik bashed up Miranda.

Maybe crude was a bit strong, but Huck did make him look pretty basic at times, especialy when catching him a putting him on the back foot.
And the Russians chin doesn't look up to the job of any unifying of titles. He's been caught and in trouble in a few fights, before Huck sent his legs dancing on sat night as well.

But either fighter would be near 50/50 with either Haye or Enzo.

I think Huck obviously knows the way to beating these well schooled Russians. Back them up, wear them out, make them work a pace they can't cope with.

Won't be surprised if Tokarev comes back well. But he is getting on a bit. He was staggered vs Cora, in their slugfest. But rallied back to win. Cora is a very talented bloke. That was one of the best fights of last year, btw.

Autobarn your touted prospects aren't doing you any justice at the moment :) First the South African (Thomas Mashaba was it?) and now Tokarev. Thing is these guys can look a million dollars bashing around inferior opposition or in a styles make fights kind of affair but sometimes when they step up to the top level they aren't quite up to it. On a similar note Huck was my tip at Cruiserweight, so i'm doing okay at the moment

I said Mashaba was ok but never touted him for anything as I had an old Bungu beating him in a bit of a war.

I think it was Klassen. He looked great against St Clair, and showed some real talent. I did hear that he went in with a shitty, arrogant attitude and kept acting like a wanker after the fight, moaning about the decision etc.

Tokarev showed a lot vs the world class Felix Cora Jr, a crafty southpaw with a massive workrate. He has a really nice style and can bang. Tokarev was wobbled in that fight yet rallied back which spoke well of his toughness and ability to come through a crisis. But he was old and small for a cruiser...

Have to say Huck fought above himself. He was always a wild sort of prospect but it seems when he puts his mind to the job he's capable of great things.

Anyway, I've got Pavlik, Munyai, Olusegun, Romanov, Bute & Inkin, some of whom will make me look like a real smart arse.

There are a few prospects/contenders I think won't make it: Hanshaw, Katsidis, Litzau, Julio. Am also sceptical about Cookie, Arthur and Bautista.
