Hats off to Sky-TV

Post by bennie »

Their presentation tonight was superb. It helped that the fight had everything, but Sky-TV made sure that we got to see everything as well, even a close-up of the judge's scorecards. That was amazing.
Can you imagine if the BBC had televised this fight? For starters, we'd still be waiting up to watch the fight, then we'd have some smug presenter in our faces for several minutes pretending to know what he's talking about - after which we'd only get to see edited highlights of the fight, with the world's worst boxing commentator, Jim Neilly, only adding to our frustration with his past tense rhetorich.
And BBC boxing would never have interviewed Jose Sulaiman afterwards. Instead, we would have had that tramp Bunce spouting on about himself mostly, and Richie Woodhall sitting on the fence.
No, Sky did a great job. They attract criticism for staging phoney world title fights courtesy of allegedly, but the drama and controversey of tonight's action deserved 'live' TV. And, thanks to them, we got it.

they interviewed the ref, i thought that was against the board rules, well it was when mccall fought lewis the first time.

Hats off to Hearn aswell, for the way he handle himself infront of Sulliman. Most would have lost the rag, he's my favourite promoter and he showed why. Experienced and enthusiastic.

Yea, I like Barry Hearn too. It's a wonder that he isn't our top promoter, especially through his affiliations with Naz.

Yes agree with everything, i am occasionally critical of Sky TV but they do cater for fight fans well and they must be commended for that, they also show PPV events over here for free that cost anything in excess of £20 in America.
