Graham Earl fight is off by the way

Post by bennie »

For those that didn't already guess, Graham Earl will not be defending his British lightweight title against Steve Conway in the original chief support to Arthur-Gomez this weekend in Edinburgh. The fight is off, no reason given.
Earl struggled against Jon Honney two weeks ago in an eight-rounder.

He certainly stuttered his way past Honney and looked poor, i thought he lost to Bobby Vanzie and he may be primed for a fall. Not particuarly anything special from what i can see, i would pick both Jason Cook and David Burke to win if either met Earl.

If there is such an award for "turn around" fighter of the year then surely Honney would be a contendor. While, Ayers looked like an incredably old man, Honney didn't resemble a fighter not in the UK top twenty. Now a credible showing against the British champion.

Maybe he can stake a claim for some eliminator bout soon, how about that for a turn around.

I agree with Steve, Cook would beat Earl - not sure about Burke.

Surely not at this stage Lightsoot. Although that is just a guess.

Why have the BBBoC mandated Vanzie vs Earl II is the question we should be asking.
