does anyone remember steve bell aussie fly weight champ late 70's early 80"s
a tecnicly great boxer! fought out many 15 round wars !!!

I remember the name but not much else. I don't think there were too many top flys around at the time in Aus (was there ever?)
How about Wayne Mulholland? Another good fly of the early 80's

fought whayne twice .. won on cut eye in round 13..
lost one to cut eye .. got tape of the fight when steve bell won ..very polished perfomance !!!!
in other words a top fly weight !....

look at his rec mate beat a lot of good fighters

I'm not surprised. These guys fought each other a number of times due to the lack of depth in the lighter divisions
I once remember reading the local ratings in 'fighter' mag and one Junior Thomson was jnr fly? champ and there was not a single contender for his title

jnr tompson yea bell fought him to. beat him both times one by ko..
if your any sort of judge of boxers youll put steve up there with some of the best ..
