Never seen him fight.
That record 115-3 is fantastic.
He had some outstanding wins including winning a series with Carlos Ortiz.
What kind of style did he fight ?
Anyone see this guy?
Duilio Loi , what a record!
My thoughts from another thread.
Duilio Loi was a very much avoided Lightweight contender in the late 1950's. He was a teak tough, highly skilled southpaw who could box well when required but could slug it out with the best of them as well. He also has a very good defence.
He finally got a shot at the newly created Light-Welterweight held by the oustanding Carlos Oritz but lost a very close decision. But Loi got his revenge soon after.
Duilio Loi was an oustanding fighter who should have got a title shot a few years earlier. Maybe he doesn't get the credit he should as he fought mostly in Europe and maybe at the time the Light-Welter crown seemed a lesser title maybe?

I cannot believe this, especially from people so well informed as yourselves!!!
Time and time again I have read on forum such as this that Loi was a southpaw.
To set the record straight, the fact is that he was NOT a southpaw, but he could switch guard very effectively, therefore confusing his opponents.
If you do not believe me ask Messrs. Ortiz, Marconi, Visintin, Wallace Smith and Joe (Old Bones) Brown who succeded in avoiding like as the plague.
