JAMIE MOORE - Was to defend his British Title against mandatory challenger Andrew Facey on the 6th July 2007 topping on SKY , but Facey turned down the opportunity despite being offered his best pay day yet and a bring back fight to defend his English title should he loose. This fight will now go to purse bids on the 13th June after the board failed to let Jamie have a voluntary defence , discussions were taking place for Jamie to fight Wayne Alexander.Jamie will now be chief support to Martin Powers v Jason Booth on this date in a 12 round International contest which will be announced in the next few days when all is signed and agreed.

MARK THOMPSON and STUART McFADGEN - Both will definitely fight on the 6th July show which is likely to be in Manchester area - full details will be available by the end of the week.

GARY SYKES - The VIP young prospect will now also appear on a SKY TV show on the 13th July in Barnsley , as well as the VIP show in Wigan on the 24th June 2007.

STEPHEN FOSTER JNR - After the disappointment of not fighting last weekend on the pulled Sprout v Skelton bill had some good news when his new sponsors CO-OP travel invited him to Vegas for 2 weeks to train and watch the the Hatton v Castillo fight . Stephen will be accompanied by his trainer Maurice Core and dad Steve 'the viking' Foster who has arranged some sessions at the Mayweather training camp - Junior will next box on the massive O2 event on 14th July 2007.

Jamie's ready to step up now, Facey and Alexander would (I suspect) be nothing more than solid stay busy fights, and to be fair its refreshing seeing Jamie stay busy. Hopefuly they've got another good international fighter lined up for him, and hopefuly this time the guy doesnt go into "dont hit me" mode. Steve Wood said yesterday "Ljuan just didnt do what it said on tin"- fair comment I'd say.

Anyone got any news on Piccirillo vacating his euro title and fighting vernon forrest? Jamie wipes the floor with Piccirillo btw.

You state that Facey was offered the best payday of his career. Please enlighten us as to how much that was exactly.

How do you know it was the best payday of his career? In fact, how can it be the best payday of his career when it was 50% less than he was paid for the same fight three or more years ago?

Was it not the case that Frank Maloney offered him a paultry seven grand because Sky didn't want the fight yet Sky are still willing to show it without reducing the rights fee to Maloney?

I like your regular VIP updates but please don't overspin the truth. The facts are that Maloney tried to get Facey for a knock-down fee as there was no TV interest when clearly SKY were alway's going to take it or how would he have paid Moore's demands? Maloney was being, let's say, liberal with the truth, again and that's the reason Facey turned it down. He'll get much more with the pending purse offer and now Maloney has no guarantee of winning it for Sky, which shouldn't bother them as they didn't, according to Maloney, want it in any case. The flipside is, if he wins the purse offer, how is he going to look Facey in the eye and explain the increased purse he has to pay him and Sky TV showing the fight without making himself look like a total liar.

I spoke to Jamie's manager Stephen Wood and he confirmed that he knows exactly what Facey was paid last time in Ireland and what he was offered for this fight.He does not want to release figures but can assure you he was offered more money for this fight , plus a guaranteed amount for a bring back English title defence which was more than reasonable.

You need to check out your facts and come back on and apologise - Mr Wood has no reason to lie.

Okay how's this then?

For fighting Moore last time on neutral ground and on Sky, he got £15k and for this one, as manadatory challenger in Manchester, Maloney offered him £7k.

Big deal regarding the comeback fight if he loses. He would get that anyway, anywhere as he would still be English Champion.

All I am saying is would Maloney allow one of his fighters to fight for that purse?

Right - Lets put this to bed then shall we......

Andrew Facey did not get £15K off Matchroom when they fought in Ireland. If you need clarification then phone them and I am sure they will confirm your source is incorrect.Please stop putting on here false statements.

Also if it was that easy for Andrew to defend his English title why has he not done ????

Errr.......He did, ask Matchroom and his Manager and the fighter.

And anyway does that mean you are justifying £7k for a British title challenge?
