Chad Dawson
They compare your brother to a young Chad Dawson,is that an accurate comparison in your opinion ?
i know the transition from jo's to open and pros was a hard one for me. i use to place 1st, 3rd, 2nd, 2nd at national silver gloves, 1st and 2nd at the national blue and gold, beat maxell taylor at the jo international camp (he was the silver medalist at that years jo nationals) and i did all this without even training. i was sparring for dumont welliver when he won the jo world tournament and was called for sparring for some other US boxers before international events. but for some reason just didn't transition well to the open class and pros.
ya, i thought about it. but i'm glad the way things worked out. traveled the country, met a lot of great people (you including), and now i train a few amateur kids. like i said, i'm glad the way things worked out. i will tell my mom you said hi. when my amatuer kid gets a few more matches we will be heading down there to see you in the blue and gold in a few years.boxmel wrote:Hi Nalo!!!!! Tell your mom I said hello, too. Thanks for adding to the discussion. Have you ever thought about what you could have done if you'd trained????You also had a girlfriend and a baby - both can be very distracting.

dont get me wrong, Chad is a 1 inna million fighter,
My coach Brian had since he was 13 Taught him very well and he is very good but
Tramaine is a 1 in 10 million fighter i've seen him do stuff i have never saw a day in my life & he makes it look routine
& no he's only 14 but watch out next year
I'm really glad to hear you're "giving back." Amateur boxing is so much more than just the competition - it's the people you meet and the places you go.ya, i thought about it. but i'm glad the way things worked out. traveled the country, met a lot of great people (you including), and now i train a few amateur kids.
Unfortunately, the B&G is no longer. 2000 was the last good year. After that it just went downhill. Baldwin Park is no longer interested in hosting it and unless another club picks it up, (it won't be the same), the B&G is gone. The last year I administered the tournament was 2000. I haven't worked it in many years.when my amatuer kid gets a few more matches we will be heading down there to see you in the blue and gold in a few years.
