BT are the best broadband service provider by some distance, they may be expensive, but bear in mind that most of the other broadband providers use BT engineers to do installations, so BT have the expertise.

DO NOT go with Sky, they haven't a clue what they are doing, they don't have the expertise to handle it, and their speeds are absolutely terrible by all accounts, if you are lucky enough to get service from them!

i was tempted to go with sky cos of there prices.

it was only the fact that they haven't gotten around to our area yet that i decided against it.

I've started having problems with BT. My activation date was the 30th May, and now on the 7th June, still no connection! The equipment only turned up yesterday, a week late, but no internet connection, and told by BT that there is a fault at the exchange.

What is worrying about this, is that when I was with Sky, they kept telling me there was a problem at the exchange as well, and I suspect it's the same problem which sky were unable to rectify, which was apparently something to do with a new card having exceeded it's capacity at the exchange.

I have now been trying to get broadband for 5 BLOODY MONTHS! This is utterly ridiculous, it's not like I live in the lake district, I'm in frigging brixton for christ's sake!

I've done the same and saw the same thing, if there IS a 12 month contract after all, especially when it CATEGORICALLY states that there isn't then I will take them to court.

I'm going to phone and cancel on 1st of August (unless anything other fights are announced) - just to be on the safe side. I have also read that you have to give 30 day notice before cancelling.

At the moment and for the last year im getting both Setanta and Sky free with my Eurovox Max Cable Box, so this regarding the price of the Sub(s) which i can you'd have to say Setanta are starting to turn the screw on Sky and I for one am delighted because this fight tonight would not have been guaranteed Live on Sky as we all well know as with past fights that should have been....

Hope its not just a ploy to get Subscribers for the Premiership in August then after that no boxing live after that

I have Ntl turned Virgin now, can this Cotto event be booked as a one off PPV?? ...checked On Demand there and can't fecking see it!

anyone think the comp between setanta and sky has made both up the quality of boxing coverage? sky's boxing schedule looks strangely promising in terms of international fights...whereas setanta picked up the biggie that sky didn't manage to grab, cotto-judah...could ths be a healthy climate of quality

I haven't really been paying close attention to this discussion, i have a Freeview box which has Setanta but it is blocked off. Can i order the PPV as a one off? I used to do that when i had SKY for fights like Hopkins-Eastman, Hopkins-Hakkar, Jones Jnr-Ruiz etc

no, the sky offer of buy 1 month get 2 months free is closest you get to ppv. essentially you pay £15 to see that fight. but you have to do it with sky.

hopkins-eastman was done via sky box office or whatever it's called. this isn't.

I've seen a couple of quotes about 12 month contract.

At no point if you have signedup to the special offer will you be put on a 12 month contract.

Quite simply sign up before the 17th and get 3 months for the price of 1, sign up between 18th and 24th aget get 2 months for price of one.

I hope as Setanta and Sky Sports compete, that they consider Canadian and Japanese boxing. Canada has a load of world class prospects...Lucian Bute, Adrian Diaconu, Jean Pascal, Herman Ngoudjo (a bit raw nonetheless)...I hope they keep their minds open. As to American fights, Showtime are quality and have big stuff planned Marquez-Vazquez 2 etc, so they should consider that avenue.

Healthy, but damn expensive!

Great deal Setanta are offering now, but I Boxing becomes a PPV thing with them. I'd pay per view for even domestic fights (as I did for Bennett vs Earl) but I don't think I can afford another £200 a year to go with my Sky Sports Subscription

they do tests and leave ya waiting.

true, but they have it worst in america. HBO and Showtime subscriptions, PPV for countless shows and so on.

Afraid so, Maloney had promised that the FULL card would be screened, so I thought for £8 its cheaper than a ticket. Unfortunately, only showed 2 fights plus a repeat of the Tyson vs McBride fight which was one the week before.

Guess what, I paid for that aswell.... So I was gutted, but a good fight though (Earl vs Bennett) and I'm glad I bought it.
