I was a big fan of Beyer, the way he destroyed (for most of the contest) Woodhall was very impressive. However, since the traumatic Cately loss he has looked decidedly gunshy and is there for the taking.
Much more confident about Reids chances in this one, infact - I think he'll win.
If somehow, the pre-Cately Beyer returns, then again it will be a hard job of Reid.

oh yeah! I hadn't even considered that it could be Beyer. I still wouldn't fancy Reid against him either but like Ottke it is a winnable fight IF Robin can recapture anything like his form of old. I'd love to see him do it. It would be a real Kodak moment to take a snap of Joe Calzaghe's face as Reid held the belt above his head after KO'ing Ottke or Beyer. Absolutely priceless. :P-

ROBIN REID will warm up this weekend for a shot at an amazing third world title.
Runcorn's 'Grim Reaper' has already held two versions of the world super-middleweight title and his promoter, Jess Harding sees Friday night's eight rounder as the final stepping stone for Reid.
"We're working on getting Robin another world title shot as we speak," said the UK Presents boss this week.
"Robin is looking at this one on Friday as a pre-cursor to another title shot which, all going well, could take place early in the new year.
"It could be the IBF belt but we're not sure yet. But there are plenty of names out there such as Tony Mundine who would offer good opposition for Robin."
While Harding points to Australian champion Mundine, who recently beat America's 'Kid Dynamite' Entwun Echols over 12 to take the WBA title after Germany's IBF and WBA king Sven Ottke was moved up to 'Super' champion status, many would love to see Reid take on the man from Berlin.
Reid's last two fights looked to be heading towards Ottke as he flew out to Germany twice to stop Uruguay's Enrique Carlos Campos in the eighth in May before doing likewise to Canada's Willard Lewis inside six earlier this month.
Further speculation, though, surrounds a possible meeting with Irish IBO champ, Brian Magee who is due to defend his title for the ninth time at Belfast's King's Hall on 22 November.
No matter what title Reid is lined up to contest, one thing is for sure, there is plenty of quality opposition out there as he looks to become one of the region's most decorated fighters. And his pedigree at this level should stand him in good stead for whoever is put before him.
After winning the WBC version by stopping Italian Vincenzo Nardiello inside seven rounds in his own backyard in Milan in 1996, Reid defended it three times before losing out to South Africa's Thulane 'Sugar Boy' Malinga 14 months later.
From there, the Runcorn puncher was unsuccessful as he tried to reclaim his WBC belt and was further disappointed as he missed out on the WBO and WBU titles before claiming the WBF version against Salford's Mike Gormley three years ago.
Reid has defended his WBF title six times since then but is now ready to step up for one of the sport's more glamorous prizes again.

Real Deal is convinced it's going to be Ottke. I think so to, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Harding announces that Reid is going to challenge Brian Magee.stujones wrote:One thing is for sure, its not going to be Beyer.
