i would like a guide if possible to what would be ok money in pounds for

.SOUTHERN AREA
.ENGLISH TITLE
.BRITISH TITLE
.COMMONWEALTH TITLE
.EUROPEAN TITLE
just so other fighters can compair money.s and try not to get ripped off the reason i ask is i just read calazaghe,s book and in it he said that when he was managed by micky duff he diddn,t know what he was getting payed for each fight and he would just get an envelope after the fight any info would be great

most purses are dependent on the title, the duration of the fight, and very importantly, the amount of notice a fighter gets, often the shorter the notice then the larger the purse !!

It all differs.....as Rhino said.

Depends on everything - who, what where (where the fighter is from, where the fight is), when (short notice).....etc etc

It depends on who the fighter is and to a degree the promoter. Once had a kid won the S/middle got £3000, not supposed to win but did . Lt welter boxed for the title was on £25,000. Horses for courses

The ability of a boxer to sell tickets is also paramount in the Promotors mind as well, when determining the purse.
Then there's also whether its on TV or not...

Think there is no set rules, for example Colin Kenna got around £15k for his Southern Area shot against Sprott but then a few years later was offered just £7k to fight Keith Long on Sky for the same belt.

Been with him a few times when he's got the call to fight Danny Williams at 3 days notice £20k and also he was offered the Skelton fight the day Williams pulled out for £25k.

I don't know what he got paid for the Platov fight as I don't see him anymore but it was a lot to pay some bills and give Jack Bishop some cash.

Thats the only thing I know about what boxers get paid.

Funny story the kid that got £3000 became British and Com champ and world no 6. his manager promoter sat him down after and told him he was in the money now, the kid said how much money. The manager replied £ 5000 for your next fight , the kid looked at me and i looked at him and thought i dont think thats a good deal see you later time to move on.
