He beat four champs in one year
Bud Smith
Paddy Demarco
Sandy Saddler
Jimmy Carter
he also beat tough Framkie Ryff.
But things got a little spotty after that.
I believe he was only about 20 when he scored those big wins.
Maybe a guy that peaked real early.
I dont think he ever got a title shot.
Another good but somewhat forgotten about battler.

IF YOU ALL WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY HE NEVER GOT A TITLE SHOT, AND REALLY QUIT SO YOUNG. DOES THE NAME FRANK COSTELLO MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU.

SAM, LARRYS FATHER TOLD MY FATHER THAT IF THEY DIDN'T SHARE THE PURSE YOU DON'T FIGHT IN NY. MY FATHER WAS TOLD THIS WHEN LARRY WAS IN CA. FOR A FIGHT. SAM SAID HE REFUSED TO DO THIS.
