Drink and drugs

Post by dondada »

Turns out that Diego Corrales was three times over the legal alcohol limit when he piled his bike up, leading a policeman to say, rather brutally "He basically killed himself".

On a lighter note, both James Toney and his last opponent tested positive for steroid use and have been fined and suspended.

To put it in perspective though, three times over the legal limit is probably only a couple of pints of English lager. The legal limit in the US is tiny.

I thought this thread was about my weekend at the Isle of Wight festival.
I'm still in recovery mode, good bands though (I think).

So what Ban will Toney get? This is his second Steroid offence isn't it

The ban is a year I think I read. Surely that's it for him now. He should hang them up.

Is that world wide ban? Being boxing i could see him getting fights in other countries

I read that by the time the ban is up he'll be just about 40.

It's hardly an opportunity to make a graceful exit from boxing but it's an exit and that's enough.

Ok, i was just reading up on Boldenone , which is one of the steroids that Toney used, and one of the effects is an increase in appetite, :D don't think Toney had any problems in that department.

Also its one of the long term in the case of detection, it will show up in tests 4-5 months after being used. Toney really must be thick to use it. Or he was given it with out him knowing.

Everyone uses Roids in HW boxing, its just Toney doesn't have a clue what hes doing to pass the tests - notice no HW boxer talks trash about other boxers failing tests - thats because everyones doing it

The sad thing is I heard Toneys broke - not sure if thats true though

take roids that stay in your system for a short period of time then cut them out an appropriate period of time before the test, some only stay in your system for 3days. The downside is the 1s that get out your system fast have a more toxic effect on your liver

I would say that there are some that take steroids, but not all of them do.

He was .25 the limit there is .08. He was fairly pissed as .25 is some serious drinking.

After so much early promise (destruction of Holyfield) Toney turned out to be somewhat of a nearly man in the Heavyweight division. He nearly beat Rahman but got outworked and got the draw, he outpointed Ruiz and got tested positive for steroids, he nearly beat Peter but was too fat to last the distance well enough and was outworked and generally ouclassed in the return. Tonet promised much as a Heavyweight but ultimately failed to deliver.

Billy Blanks training tips coming into practice.

What a donut Toney is though, he's tarnished his legacy badly. I remember when he fought Holyfield a few people said he looked like he was a bit bloated from steroid use. And even at cruiserweight he was like that. It's quite conceivable that he's been juicing for age's and has gotten away with it all this time.

No it isn't, 6 pints over 3 hours is .31, that's hardly serious drinking is it, half a pint an hour?

As is 2 pints over an hour, bare in mind some of the alcohol would have been burned off after the start of him driving, and perhaps after death - that part I'm unsure of

Some people would be rat arsed if they drank 5 or 6 pints in the space of 3 hours, certainly way too pissed to be driving a car but to get on a sports bike would be just plain stupid.

Still, he didn't take anyone else out with him and paid the ultimate price. Let's hope others will learn from his mistakes.
